Antonio Gates was listed as the
83rd 73rd best player in the league. He has been one of the top tight ends in the league for years and he still is getting the respect among his peers for his skills. He may have lost a step, but he still finds ways to get open. He also is getting more attention from the defense with less weapons on the Chargers offense.
Gates still can be a huge contributor on offense and will definitely get more mismatches with the wide receiving squad more beefed up. Keenan Allen, Danario Alexander and Vincent Brown should open up the middle of the field more for Gates to move those chains.
Will Gates be the only Charger on this list? He wasn’t even the best player on the team, but it definitely is a possibility. It’s a popularity contest and nobody else may have the attention like Gates.
If Eric Weddle is not on this list, it will be a dang shame!
