Chargers Make Offer to Bryant McKinnie. No Deal In Place

The Chargers have made an offer to Bryant McKinnie, but there is no deal in place, per Aaron Wilson. McKinnie is probably going to run that offer over to the Ravens to see if they are interested in keeping him around.

Since McKinnie is leaving town without a contract done, Tom Telesco better get on the phone and start ringing up the other left tackles in free agency. Give a call over to Max Starks and see what his plans are for the season.

It is a dang game that McKinnie is playing. If the Ravens can get anywhere near the offer that we sent out to him, then he is going to stay with the Ravens.

Get on the phone Tommy T!

Might as well try and trade for the Jags LT Monroe since they have Joeckel. Would be the best long term option due to his youth and improvement on the left side.

    • Pels04

I like that. We have an extra WR or 2 they can have and rumor has it they might need a new one ;)

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

I’d give em Floyd and next years 4th rounder. (I like to trade Floyd all the time, we have a million huge WR’s now that are better then him(

        • Julien Bélair

          i like this idea

        • Gunnar Martin

          *air five*

      • tubbs45

Timing is everything, well and some talent!

    • JoseSD

I think Monroe is a free agent next year so they would have to work out a new deal if they traded for him

      • Julien Bélair

        i would like that

    • http://www.facebook.com/mjosepher Morgan Josepher

WTF could SD offer any team in a trade other than draft picks? Monroe gonna cost more than a 4th rounder

      • Julien Bélair

i would easily give a 3th rounder for him and floyd in bonus

      • tubbs45

Royal and a pack of big league chew

  • Steve Diaz

Call Starks now! If we don’t get McKinnie we need him as our backup. Starks is our last resort…

  • Pels04

The fact that the news coming out on Mckinnie is the Chargers made an offer to him and isnt that he signed, is probably not a good sign.

    • boltingindiego

hes playin it smart because keep his options open because its between 3 teams balt, miami, and us. i would assume his first priority is to stay with balt since they are the champs and hes familiar with the o-line.

      • Pels04

Yep, which isnt good for us

      • jonpviv

        he’s from miami….

        • boltingindiego

nah he played their in college but hes from somewhere else i think somewhere up north on the east coast.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

This is where you start cutting dudes and upping the offer! Can’t let him sign elsewhere. Peace out Royal and Clary

  • RZ

Should have bought him a triple cheeseburger & some jumbo fries along with that contract….ef that dude.SMH!

  • RussinSactown

It could be he’s trying to stir up a bidding war between us and Miami or us and Baltimore. If this is the case, get Starks in and waive him on.

    • tubbs45

On the advice of his agent he is trying to get Baltimore to pony up!

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Call Starks now? Lol… shouldn’t that call already have been made days ago? Maybe coming out to San Diego was on his bucket list.. lol.

    • RussinSactown

Miami, San Diego. You have to figure that the clubs are paying for his week long vacation.

      • tubbs45

Everybody likes the weather and in-and-out 4×4′s

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      true…

    • Skylar Riehemann

This is a valid point sir.

  • Skylar Riehemann

Gotta get somebody in that position ASAP. I don’t think king Dunlap is the answer.

    • Julien Bélair

he is a very good back up not a starter

  • tbell11

Whom ever the Chargers sign it better be only a 1or 2 year deal since the Chargers will find their next OT in the 2014 draft.

    • Julien Bélair

      don’t worry TT knows it

  • RussinSactown

How about giving him an ultimatum? No agreement by the end of the day and we go in another direction?

    • http://www.facebook.com/mjosepher Morgan Josepher

I like it, but there is no other direction unless we get starks

  • http://www.facebook.com/mjosepher Morgan Josepher

Gaither 2.0 … he already has a ring and he is getting old, this guy signs he has 0 motivation to work hard and you can bet he gonna be the second coming of #78 … starks … starks … starks …

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

      Lamest comment i’ve ever read.

      • Julien Bélair

        hahaha

      • tubbs45

Lmao, how do you really feel?

    • RussinSactown

Maximizing the money he can earn. Looking for a second suitor

    • Gunnar Martin

Just because somebody just recently won the Super Bowl doesn’t mean they automatically become unmotivated. There’s something called “for the love of the game.” Heck, they even made a movie out of it.

  • [email protected]

Did you guys hear we signed michael herman from rpi QB hes pretty decent maybe a collin kapernick lol hes better then the he other we drafted I think so

    • Julien Bélair

      was he undrafted?

      • [email protected]

Yea then the raiders offered to go to mini camp but then the chargers offered him a contract to ours or something like that his pro day looks pretty good to me

  • Rob Base

He doesn’t sign then what? Telesco better have a back up plan.

    • boltingindiego

than its either starks or a lt we currently have.

  • FitzWilly

    I don’t trust this BLOB
    It reeks of Gaither
Plz, No more Ravens for a while
    Thanx T^2

  • Cgoodness13

All he has to do is stand up and lean forward and he will show more effort than Gaither.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      Truth

      • Brandon Rios

Let it out man, let it out..They won’t ban you here. haha

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

This! I would love to see Erniecut loose.. I think? Lol.

  • Gunnar Martin

Well if he does end up playing for us, he better find a new kind of helmet. Makes him look really fat.

    Oh wait… ;)

  • RussinSactown

He’s probably had this as a plan all along. Get the offer and say “Will you match this?“ We need to get Starks on the phone and see if he wants to play here

  • RussinSactown
  • tubbs45

According to Aaron Wilson: the Cowboys have made an inquiry as well about McKinnie. Damn you Jerry Jones…. TT you better get Starks on in for the Physical in secret…
