On Bryant McKinnie Watch

We are on Bryant McKinnie watch right now. He could be a key ingredient in bringing this offense back to the top.

So, with McKinnie in town, we are stalking his every move. Here is his latest tweet:

How did we let him walk out of the building without a contract signed? Maybe he is going to dinner to meet up with the Bolts to finalize everything and is going to sit for a little bit to think about it all.

When Ian Rapoport tweeted out the status of McKinnie and said that it sounds like things were going well, McKinnie responded with a “yup”!

So it sure sounds like things are going well.

When Ravens reporter Aaron Wilson texted McKinnie, he got this response:

Quite the wordsmith Mr. McKinnie. If you consider sunny skies and 70 degree temps cool, then it’s cool all the dang time. Now pull out that pen and sign on the line.

If you see him around town at dinner, give him a pat on the back and buy him a brew. Tell him to say hi to Rihanna for me also.

UPDATE:
They are at dinner:

If they can get McKinnie signed, you would put together an Oline with major upgrades at LT, LG, RT, with a possible step back at RG. Sounds like a good job by TT.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      Right… Not bad at all

    • davacho

      agreed

    • Cgoodness13

Why was Vasquez at RG? Anyone know why? He was a alright run blocker, but above average pass blocker so he shoulda played LG. am I wrong or is norv just a idiot?

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Just cuz he only has played right. Footwork is different in the other side

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

He DID say fixing it was a #1 priority… So he would be a man of his word… He’s trying.

  • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Ernie: I am praying this guy is good, at a reasonable price, TT signs him, and we get that o-line fixed. Rivers will be in heaven. Omg, I just flashed on Pete’s post. “Tom, please get him outta here. He is gonna get me killed… here he comes..:

    • Cgoodness13

      ….oh hey clary how’s it going :)

      • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

You make me laugh. lol Good sense of humor. And you don’t get your boxers in a wad when I get on a rant.

        • Cgoodness13

          I wear briefs bro lol

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I can see Clary on the phone when McCoy called him about Fluker… on the edge of the bed.. in boxers, and a wife beater… with a half empty bag of cheese puffs… saying “No… I totally understand, Mike”. A single tear rolling down his cheek… as he looked on at a framed picture of him,.Norv, & AJ… taken at Chucky Cheese.

      Too elaborate?

      • RussinSactown

So do you think he called Norv later and cried “I think they’re gonna dump me!” then went back for the chunky monkey in the fridge?

Might as well take it a step further.

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

          Hahaha!

“Can I come to Cleveland, Norv? I promise I’ll change.. I can work on my blocking, and..”

“No Jeromey.. Its over. I’m a totally different person, on a new team… it just wouldn’t work out”.

          “PLEASE, NORV”!!!! (Snot bubble)

“I said IT’S OVER… and I’m going to need the neck moisturizer I left at your house back. I’ll have AJ come by for my things”.

“WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME”!!!

“You did it to yourself, Jeromey…”

          Click.

          • Julien Bélair

            funny

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

So freaking good… The fictional tales of Jeromey Clary… Love it

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

The way I see it… I don’t feel bad having a little fun, after the years of torture we’ve been subjected to = )

          • Julien Bélair

Don’t hate the player. He started every game since he is here. He is just not good enough but I sincerely think that he tried to be better but he is just not a good player.

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I’m just playing., and having a little fun. I blame him for very little, actually. I hear he’s a great guy in the locker room. Just not a good tackle, that’s all. A for effort, most def.

  • Cgoodness13

I’d prefer Starks, after the Gaither experiment I don’t like risky players with effort questions.

    • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

X that out—of the mind altogether. We cannot have another Gaither.

    • tubbs45

Starks and McKiney are both close calls, Pitt doesn’t want Starks either. They both have had weight issues and are not the best LTs but better than what we have with KingD…

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Bryant McKinnie how do you feel about becoming a Charger?

    “It’s aight”

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Say what you want about the Chargers these last few seasons… But at least we’ve sniffed a championship and the playoffs recently. The fins play in the same division as New England, and haven’t been relevant in years.

      • tubbs45

        True story!

      • Dion Chin

This year the Fins have a contender.

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

          Maybe. Tannehill still their QB?

          • Dion Chin

Ya, he’s a lil suspect but he’s not that bad. They really upgraded every other need they had though through FA and the Draft. Who cares, screw em! BOLTS4LIFE!

          • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

            LOL.. heck yeah!

    • http://twitter.com/BReisinger86 Brandon Reisinger

Hahaha! Nice. I would up vote twice if I could

    • joerockt

      Words are hard.

  • 619chargers4life

he needs not, to get on any plane!! fingers crossed.

  • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Tom Telesco and McKinnie are out to dinner

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

      At In-N-Out? Lol.

      • joerockt

        lolz

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

          Nice!!!

  • http://twitter.com/BReisinger86 Brandon Reisinger

It’s okay Ernie. Some people make a good living out of stalking people on Twitter

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

    No whammy… No whammy… No whammy…. STOP!!!!

    • joerockt

      forgot “BIG MONEY!”

  • tubbs45

Come on bolt brass pay the man…
Here are Clayton’s latest numbers for each team in the AFC West:
    Denver: $8.4 million
    Kansas City: $3.9 million
    Oakland: $3.1 million
    San Diego: $5.5 million

  • tubbs45

@MartyCaswell: Talked to former teammate of Bryant McKinnie, who said he’s good in locker room but not good at commitment to football. We’ll see. #Chargers

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      He is committed to eating

      • tubbs45

Double double double with extra meat please!

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Animal style fries… And why not go 4×4? Its on TT.. LOL.

  • CHARGERS80

    Marcus McNeil
    Jared Gaither
    Bryant McKnnie

We need a solid solution at LT or good RT to attempt the switch.
We do not need to tie up any funds in a player that will be out of football 4 weeks into the season.
Fool us once shame on you
    Fool us every year…

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

You have a point. It would be nice to get some consistency. It’s a hard position to fill. Three teams got their elite tackle, and a few are still battling it out.

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Exactly man, you cant draft what’s not there so we got the best option for the opisite side.

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

What are you talking about we drafted McNeil knowing about his spinal problem, Gaither was … I don’t even want to talk about it. Letting Gaither tramatize us is not something we need to continue on with. Mckinnie problems are nothing compared to Gaithers and is not fair to him or readers doing so. His teammates loved him, he showed up kinda fat, got in the coaches doghouse because of it, lost the weight and won the superbowl. Does that sound like Gaither in any way? Nope

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Also he’s a stop gap til the next draft, were getting our guy next year for sure there’s 5 first round worthy LTs next year before college football season even starts.

      • CHARGERS80

6’6″+ 340lbs+ and a need to be pushed into staying motivated.
That describes too many people that our management deem contract worthy. I really do not want J.Clary to be our LT, but at least when he is out on the field getting beat he is attempting to play. I sincerly hope that if Mckinnie passes his physical and signs a contract , that he is physically and mentally able to fulfill it.
I truly hope that he reads this and proves me wrong and plays at his old dominating level. But this is not early 2000′s.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

Okay… I ate dinner, dessert, AND took a shower. They gonna make us wait, I guess.

    • tubbs45

@albertbreer: Free-agent OT Bryant McKinnie says, via text, that he’s taking a physical with the Chargers today. Which is another step in the process.

  • Dion Chin

I have also heard that McKinnoe has issues committing to football. If this is this case I prefer Starks. I hate low-effort players.
