Fillin’ up dem holes…fillin’ up dem holes…..LOL

    • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I prefer to call them opportunities… Lol.

      • tubbs45

Straight up opportunities, opportunities to start!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-P-Derrick/1654577989 James P Derrick

Hell yeah….no more potholes in our lawn….

  • http://www.signonsandiego.com/ Ambitoos

The Chargers were not able to get somebody for the left tackle position but those teams that did will be releasing somebody. Maybe we can fill the position untill next years draft.

    • Sergio Quintero

A lot of people are expecting the signing of Bryant McKinnie keeping fingers crossed.

      • Gunnar Martin

Would much rather Starks that came from the Steelers.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Next years draft should have someone for us

      • Gunnar Martin

Matthews, Lewan, that guy from Alabama, and many more. Will be another great year for O-lineman.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Or we can sign a free agent maybe. Ha

    • arnie

      Why? Chargers already have LT.

  • Cgoodness13

We should cut r.brown and foswit so we can keep Michael Hill.

    • Sergio Quintero

I heard good things about hill, I actually thought he was going to be their 7th round pick. I like him more then their actual pick.

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

The dude from V Tech we signed started all his games at LT last year, he’s huge and could be good with slot of good coaching. He had a good rating from NFL.com like 67.5 or something

        • arnie

That’s a good sign. More depth.
But picking him the 7th, would mean the Chargers are making an investment in him. This way he has to earn his way onto the roster. And if he’s a stud, it’s steal.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

I was trying lol but had to leave my office, hey they retracted several names on trade rumors, did some not sign?

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Possibly… Remember stuff happening like that last uear

  • Sergio Quintero

Geathers might make the roster as the backup NT.

    • boltingindiego

unless we sign some1 else he is the back up nt.

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

I bet he does, he could be the swing guy with Cam

  • Gooch

Was hoping the Chargers would sign ILB Kevin Reddick from UNC who had a grade in the 80′s that went undrafted but I see he was signed by the Saints :( would have preferred him over the 7th round pick we took!

    • nativesandiegan

      Saints strike again

  • FitzWilly

    The Draft is finally over
    Grade A
got some awesome talent that will help us right away
    M^2 + T^2 = Awesome^2

    • Gunnar Martin

      Love it!

  • RussinSactown

Cromartie? Hide yer wife. Hide yer kids. Sorry for the stereotyping. Antonio’s reputation is far reaching.

    • FitzWilly

      :)

    • arnie

Is he related to air cro?

      • RussinSactown

I don’t think so according to his Wisconsin bio but I couldn’t help it.

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

        Hahaha… Cousins

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Could be one of his kids he wasn’t sure of also! But for real… They are related

        • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

I hope he’s related to ten rookie season INT’s.

          • RussinSactown

            This would be good.

        • arnie

          LOL….

      • Gunnar Martin

        Yeah they’re cousins

    • tubbs45

He can fertilize women with a wink. protect yourselves!

  • http://www.facebook.com/amwall1 Andrew Michael Wall

    Okoro, Kenny DB Wake Forest

    Richards, Randy` T Missouri State

    Rolf, David TE Utah

    Tasker, Luke WR Cornell

    Walker, Devan LB Southeastern Louisiana

    • Gunnar Martin

Hill, Geathers, and Addae are the best from that list. They all fill needs and come at fantastic value.

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

I am excited to see gardner… There will be competition!

        • Sergio Quintero

I remember Gardner from article you did, possible top draft prospect for next year’s draft who didn’t qualify academically from junior college. Big WR, who ran in 4.5-4.6 range.

      • RussinSactown

Becton was rated at a 67.5 on NFL.com

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-P-Derrick/1654577989 James P Derrick

Addae looks like a beast of a Safety… any thoughts???

        • Rob Base

Dude can play SS,FS,ST and used to play RB. Hope he makes the roster

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-P-Derrick/1654577989 James P Derrick

Saw his YouTube highlights and now I need a wet wipe..can we plug this guy in if Taylor is not fully ready??? Its been so long (#37RH) since SD had a punisher at Safety…

          • Gunnar Martin

We could use him until Taylor is 100%. Would compete with Stuckey and actually Gilchrist for that spot. I say we keep him even if Taylor is ready because he is gonna be a beast paired with Stuckey in special teams. Weddle and Stuckey at FS, Taylor and Addae at SS
            Think about that… that’s scary

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/James-P-Derrick/1654577989 James P Derrick

Swag!!! Can’t wait for the season to start

  • BoltDaddy007

Addae will be a stud! Great pick-up TT! Cat hits like a truck

  • BoltDaddy007

Geathers is a mountain of a man and strong as a ox, solid rotational NT

  • http://twitter.com/Bolts_NFL_Music MC Boltman

Would´ve loved they´d go after RB Cierre Wood from Notre Dame – the Texans did – and OLB Chase Thomas; the Saints grabbed him after the draft.
But it was a solid draft by the Chargers IMO.

    • nativesandiegan

Saints seem to be doing everything right % hurting us since signing Drew & hiring Payton, especially in this draft/URFA’s (except for being made a scapegoat by NFL) & drafting Meacham)

    • Antonio Spellman

but I think Michael Hil will be better the man has some real potential and he was a giant at Western Missouri

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Jahleel Addae’s gotta be our fill in SS, dudes beastly

  • 1961 Fan

The Bolts have NOT improved the team; everyone needs to get real. I believe they have regressed and may have trouble going better than 7-9, perhaps 6-10 is a better prediction. The Chargers should beat the Raiders on Oct. 6 for their first win to go 1-4 for their first five games. Write it down!

    • joerockt

Anyone who thinks Fluker isn’t an improvement over Clary or really any other T’s we have has zero credibility.

      • Cgoodness13

Just imagine I upped this 50 times alright? Could only do it once unfortunately

    • Rob Base

      Wow get lost!

    • 619chargers4life

hey ur back! havent seen ur hateraid around these parts in a while. you will be ok. Chargers will be ok regardless of how negative u are. ha ! sorry ur so mad and disappointed in the Chargers all time. i wish i could give u a hug sometimes and maybe a tissue.

    • nativesandiegan

I beg to differ with you, but they’ve already improved the team by improving the coaching staff

  • 1961 Fan

Newbie Fluker has not played one down of professional NFL quality football; hold your water to see how he performs. It takes time to learn the system and get up to the speed of the NEW game. The same holds true for the Veterans (Rivers) now playing under a new HC.

    • Gunnar Martin

You should stop commenting or just get banned from this site. Everybody hates your negativity in these times of hope and opportunity. What are you trying to prove to these people?

You remind me of my father.

  • 1961 Fan

Are you angry about the Chargers NOT being contenders?

  • 1961 Fan

619Chargers4life, wants to give me a hug. It appears he/they are complacent with the Bolts and the choices they have made: Tell me again how Larry English-Ryan Matthews-Corey Liguet & Melvin Ingram have improved the team. One player does not make a team. What player (FA) or Coach of quality wants to go to a franchise that fires a HC after he posts a 14-2 record?
You may wish, hope or cross your fingers but the Chargers are not contenders. As a financial (season seats) supporter I am expressing my discontent with ownership and their choices. Rah, rah to you!

    • Cgoodness13

Melvin Ingram was in the face of QBs all season long last year, we just had crappy coverage so they were able to throw it before Ingram could tackle them. Cory Liuget did pretty well last year, sucked his rookie year though, Ryan had no blocks, only got yards when he bounced off a tackle and hit the sideline.

    • Gunnar Martin

Who do you think you are, hater???

  • Cgoodness13

Byron Jerideau could be a really good pick up also, he did clear a lot of room for Ingram to raise hell back in college.

  • 1961 Fan

True point about Melvin Ingram; one player, and we finished 7-9. For the
2013 season the Bolts and YOU have sixteen chances to prove me wrong starting on Sept 9, vs: the Texans I will be there, will you?

    • Cgoodness13

You sound like a lame political ad lol

    • nativesandiegan

Hate to jump in this thread late, but can’t hold back. It is plausible we could have worse record next year and actually not be screwed out of a top LT by winning meaningless games near end of season {players will need to learn new system to the point it’s automatic to them & doesn’t slow them down). All the players will need to learn to play together as units (te,wr/qb, o-line, o-line/rb, secondary, d-line/lb, lb/secondary, whole defense, whole offense, spec. teams, and entire team, … I’m not condoning losing games on purpose, only suggest giving younger players & rookies opportunities to start &/or work in alternate packages besides base offense & defense. They need that experience to grow into the positions and meld together, and they also need a year of nfl conditioning to improve strengths for different positions. They also deserve the opportunity to be evaluated fairly by staff/organization. Do you think it was a coincidence that Indy had the worst record after Peyton’s injury and in the year Andrew Luck came out? They gave their young players opportunities to play (and growing pains). They were set for the last 12+ yrs with Peyton, & now they’re set for the next 12+ yrs with Luck. Franchise LT’s don’t just grow on trees; that may need to be where we sign an expensive LT in FA, but usually they’re franchised. Vilify me if you must, but I don’t even know if Lewan, Matthews, etc will be as good as the trio this year. I do think Tom may have been a little gun-shy to trade up with Traiders with his first draft pick ever, but then learned from it Fri nite and did the trade up to get Te’o (although personally I would have stayed and taken Brown, Minter in rd 2, or even Nico Johnson in late 3rd (my preference) and 0-line/SS in 2nd or traded down a bit. Or…Chargers could have had DJ targeted in at RT all along if LT’s & G’s were taken. They obviously know more than I do & have much more info. Enough blabbering out of me; maybe I’ll submit an article one of these days (if you’ll let me) Sorry about length of this “comment”. I just have a passion for the team, & now for the 1st time in forever, I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

    • DougM

You should listen to yourself. From below, ” It takes time to learn the system and get up to the speed of the NEW game”. So, will you give Ingram that chance? I’m sure you were one to say that Liuget was a bust after year 1 too?

  • 1961 Fan

To: I am one of the few realist! NOT YOUR FATHER!

    • Rob Base

The real question is what are you really lacking in life to get all this negative attention. You should take a look at that buddy.

  • tubbs45

Really like Byron out of South Carolina. As a NT he gets push, uses his hands well, and doesnt give up on plays. I like the size of Geathers, but he seems to lack strength. Either way They both maybe backing up Thomas through the preseason.

    • Antonio Spellman

He and Geathers I think both make the team. Three legitimate NTs is better than 1. the errors of the other two are definitely correctable and we have a good DL coach
