The draft starts up early tomorrow morning, but we don’t have a 4th round draft pick after trading up to get Manti Te’o. We will have to wait around till the 5th round to make our selection, unless we make another trade. Here are a few players that I would love to see the Chargers target when their turn comes up.
Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama: I don’t think he will last long enough for the Chargers to snatch him up, but if he is there, he would be great to rotate in on the defensive line.
Johnathan Franklin, RB, UCLA: he definitely won’t last, but I didn’t think he would still be available at this point. If we is available, he would add some depth at runningback.
Jordan Poyer, CB, Oregon State: the corner depth is deep in this draft. It would be awesome to grab Poyer to rotate into the secondary.
Barrett Jones, C/G, Alabama: Jones is versatile on the line and I was actually hoping that the Chargers picked him in the 3rd. Love that Keenan Allen was taken, but would not have been disappointed with that selection.
Shamarko Thomas, S, Syracuse: Thomas is a thumper. He will punish running backs and looks to make the big hit.
Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina: has the potential to be the best runningback in the class, but he is also coming back from a gnarly injury. He can be a steal in round 5
Denard Robinson, ??, Michigan: who knows how he can help on the team, but he is dynamic when he has the football in his hands.
