Danario Alexander Signs One Year Tender With Chargers

Danario Alexander signed his one year tender with the San Diego Chargers today. Today could be a really good day for the Bolts. The team will be adding a player through the draft and now the team has Alexander locked up for one more year.

Alexander helped the offense as soon as he stepped onto the field. He gave Philip Rivers more comfort throwing that deep ball and was one of the few playmakers on the roster. So happy that he is back in the fold and just need to pray that he is injury free for the year. He will get a whole offseason to work with Philip and the offense and could be even better this coming year.

BOOM! Now keep that knee healthy.

    • Stefanie Smith

Yes. If he continues to perform well and can manage to stay healthy on this one year deal (all the guys hate these deals – like Brees did), then maybe there will be a longer term deal for Alexander. Eventually, the good players do want to get paid, i.e. like VJax.

I worry that these tenders and one year deals fester resentment with the players, it did with Brees and countless others.

I hear where you’re coming from. I’d like to see a 1 yr deal with a 1 yr option based on number of games played (his health) & additional clause specifically regarding knee ligament tears. In return (if he stayed healthy), have reasonable performance incentives. For now, I think both sides wanted to quickly get him under contract before the draft. Then they can take the necessary time to work on a more complex deal.

    That’s great news
Let’s hope he can stay healthy
