The Madden series was looking to bring back be past and put them up against today’s stars for the next Madden video game release. The Chargers had a couple of players in the running, Ladainian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates, but they were voted off a while ago in the process.

This year’s cover boy came down to a couple of All-World runningbacks. Barry Sanders ended up winning the spot as the cover boy over Adrian Peterson. No Madden curse can touch Barry Sanders.

Kinda crazy that the Detroit Lions will have someone on the Madden cover for 2 seasons in a row. Calvin Johnson was on the cover of the game last season and no Madden curse was able to slow him down. He only had one of the best seasons a wide receiver could have!

One day a Chargers player will make it onto the cover. Maybe. Luis Castillo does not count!

Castillo was on the Spanish version I believe.

Why not Jerry Rice? I think he would gracefully do a very good cover.

It was voted on by the fans… Rice lost out earlier in the rounds
