NFL Draft 2013: Jason LaCanfora Plans On Tweeting Picks Before They Are Announced

If you are a part of the twitter universe, it is a great way to get information on sports up to the minute. That is why Jason LaCanfora will be doing his job and tweeting out the selections as soon as he hears them.

“We’re not a broadcast partner for the draft,” LaCanfora said. via Sherman Report. “I will be trying to get the information out as quickly and accurately as possible. What event is made more for Twitter than the NFL draft? If the teams have the information; if the guys in the production truck have the information; if the commissioner has the information; why wouldn’t passionate football fans want it as well?”

Some feel that it ruins the draft experience knowing who is getting selected before it is announced on the television. If that is how you feel about it, then don’t follow him or don’t jump on your twitter while you are watching the draft. It is pretty simple.

A ton of peeps are unfollowing him right now to try and prove a point. I am sure you will probably follow him right back after the draft. That is what he is supposed to do.

I’m, not on Twitter enough for this to be a problem

  • Kenny Redman

Don’t they already do that with showing the player on the phone. All the top prospects are there, or have a camera crew at their home.

For the West Coasters info: Draft starts at 5:00 PM tomorrow night. On Friday – 3:30 PM and on Saturday, it starts at like 9:00 AM –on NFL Network. Hope TT comes through.

      It’s on NFL.com too right?

      • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Yes. Mr. Blanks, if you get NFL Network at home, you can also watch the full NFL Network on the computer. They have it on NFL.com. And also, I believe they have some other sorts of coverage on NFL.com for those with no access to NFL Network.

If he really wants to impress me; tell me who is gets picked tomorrow……today.

I don’t have a twitter account so I dont care, but if I did i would unfollow him. Gotta watch and enjoy the draft the ways it supposed to be.

Agreed. That is what makes it fun. I feel sorry for every one of the guys that ends up sweating bullets. Reuben Randle ( I think that was his name) – last year…waited all by himself until day 2? and the Giants picked him up. He was sitting in there by himself.

That’s the problem with the media these days – who cares about being first? Be accurate and give me a good analysis. Yippee for you, Jason – you can schmooze so you have contacts that might get you information on who’s being picked before it’s announced. How about showing us that you can use your brain and analyze the picks after they’ve been sent in, rather than ruining the event, just because you can.
