Danario Alexander is with the San Diego Chargers participating in this week’s voluntary mini camp. He still has not signed his tender from the team, but he did sign a waiver to be able to participate and learn from the new coaches in town.

Other teams around the league have until the end of this week to try and offer him a deal. This will be a good chance for Mike McCoy and Tom Telesco to evaluate him as well.

I am ready for the uncertainty with Alexander to end. We just have one more week to wait and we will know what is going on with him.

If some team does offer him a deal, the Chargers have a 5 day window to match the deal. It has been quiet on the Danario front for a bit.

Soon and very soon…. we will know something.

Come on DA sign the paperwork! Pretty please!

    • nativesandiegan

I’m sure he wants multi-year contract and not just the one-yr tender

  • joerockt

Would be nice to keep this cat around for 2013. Keep up hope he doesn’t get an offer.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

after we sign him… we are then going to have to hope he doesnt get hurt.

      • joerockt

True. I really like the idea of DA, M80 and VB as our starters. And if Mechem and Royal get their shit together, we have a pretty solid group

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

That IF is what drives me nuts!

          • boltingindiego

just gotta hope for a healthy year man.

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

sigh… one injury from Vincent Brown, Malcom Floyd or DX means that one of those guys are playing…. they better get their crap in gear. When Ajirotutu and Spurlock outplays you, things are not looking pretty

          • boltingindiego

i think they will plus if its the same system as in denver royal should already know it.

        • Nick in PB

Totally agree joerockt! We would be pretty solid!

  • tbell11

Now that he’s in attendance, I’ll be even more pissed if he leaves.

  • arnie

Now that is a smart move. yeah i can see he is risking injury without signing his tender. But why put yourself behind the eight ball, if he is a Charger for 2013? coming in only shows his desire to be a Charger, or least play football, no matter who it is. i think he’s seeing the light of his circumstances, and is looking to playing out the hand he’s been dealt.

    • Nick in PB

Couldn’t agree more Arnie! In this day and age, how many players would not be there? He’s being pro-active. Love that attitude in the young man. It shows he wants to be here and show the new staff that he’s hungry! If this guy stays healthy, he’s the best we have!

      • arnie

I would love to see what he can do for the Chargers, in a Full season. Had DX played 16 games in 2012, he was on pace to be a 1,000 yard WR.

  • davacho

    let’s just do this already

The players seem positive about what McCoy is selling and that is good. I did laugh when Weddle told a reporter that the Chargers aren’t rebuilding.

McCoy liked that all the players showed up also and said a ton of good stuff about Rivers.

  • Rob Base

This dude signs with Bolts proves he can stay healthy and can contribute all season he may have a chance getting a deal done maybe?

  • Gunnar Martin

    Yessss… progress.

  • http://www.BoltBeat.com/ Peter Thompson

It’s getting down to the wire, and no other horse seems to be in the race, YET! Is anyone else nervous that the Pats didn’t get E. Sanders? I knew that the Browns signing him was looming… but, the Pats are just such.. well.. sneaky bastards!

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Would give us more reason to hate them.. Sti think the Browns would do it

      • nativesandiegan

They’ll probably wait until the last day. Question: If one team makes an offer & we match then that’s his contract and no one else can make offer, right? Maybe someone will make a low offer, we match, & Browns are screwed! Ha ha.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

          That’s exactly how t works

    • nativesandiegan

They almost always get who they want. Good job Steelers. Of course, after the Boston Marathon bombing I see them in a different light. Probably runners from San Diego there too.

  • Tom Spalsbury

    He’s ours ! You can’t have him !

  • tiiiiiiiiiiit11

DX!!!! My dude!! He is easily our best receiver.
