of course he will. he got bad injury i get that but i remember he was good for at least the last two games. Why not keeping him for depth. Maybe Mccoy will know how to use his ability.

I think so, he had issues with his hamstring all year, but towards the end of the season you could see his connection with Philip improve and he played well. Last training camp he was being talked about as a major contributor until his hamstring kept holding him back

He’s a good returner, really no need for tavon Austin because of royal :/

He has to stick around. We are on the hook for $3,000,000 even if we cut him… (dead money). If he stays, then he gets an additional $1.5 mill signing bonus this year.

Wish he would just play and play well consistently. Not to much to ask for $4.5 mill for 2013.

The risk of him staying healthy and playing in the slot is worth the extra 1.5 mil then if he was cut.

Are you saying the risk of him staying healthy is not worth giving him the signing bonus, which is what we would save if he were cut? We would still lose the $3,000,000 guaranteed if he was cut.

I think he could stay healthy and contribute. You saw flashes of it last season. I don’t know.

“is worth the extra 1.5 mil”. I’m all for keeping him.

Yeah, I think so, too. I hope he comes through.

He won’t be if Bolts draft Austin :)

    • Gunnar Martin

Eww that would suck. Not against Tavon but we have much worse things to patch up than our slot WR.

Hahah.. I wonder if he even stays if we have to match an offer for Danario

      • Rob Base

Im thinking a team at the last minute will give Alexander an offer Bolts wont match. Thing is everyone’s is saying that Bolts won’t go for a WR in draft. Ok we’ll think Telesco had anything to do with Austin Collie to the Colts in 4th rd in 2009. Plus in 2012 Colts got 2 WR’s in round 3 and 6. It may not be the guy we want Ernie but I’m thinking that he’s trying to bring in solid depth for a WR. The past few years injuries have plagued the team at that position. Swope has had a visit with the Bolts already and Telseco brought those two other dudes. But like I’ve said many times before I’m no expert. Just my take on it.

So many mixed feelings on Royal. So many expectations last year. The big concern coming into fee agency was his injury history. And he lived up to that. I dunno.. Sure, he’s in. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was cut.

    • arnie

I’m with you on that Pete, just consider who he was playing under.
I’m no royal fan either, but I was really excited when the Chargers picked him up. I’m only willing to over look last season for two reasons. norv was his coach, and under him this team had notoriously high rate of injuries. With the new staff, I’m willing to let by gone’s be by gone’s.

I got some Kool-Aid if you want some.

  • boltingindiego

mccoy coached royal in denver and if he liked him than that increases the chances of him staying on the roster.

  • Gunnar Martin

    The answer is yes

  • FitzWilly

Tx for not choosing Hill-Billy Joe Toliver or Chris Evertt
