Desmond Trufant or Xavier Rhodes?

Who do you think is the better cornerback – Desmond Trufant or Xavier Rhodes?

Trufant is a monster cornerback who was a beast as a Washington Husky. He knows how to lay hits, play man to man, play zone, but what I like about him most is that he never gives up on a play. He will even hold a guy so he can’t get the ball but that has to stop in the NFL.

Xavier Rhodes on the other hand is a very lengthy corner who can cover just about anyone. His long arms help him out a lot in man to man and zone.

I would not be surprised if Tom Telsco moves back in the draft and gets one of these two monster, day one starting corners.

  • kris

    Rhodes for sure.

  • Rob Base

    Rhodes no doubt!

Trufant has the bloodlines and looks like a better tackler, but Rhodes is a better coverage guy. I pick Rhodes, but its close.

Rhodes can switch up with Cox guarding the bigger receivers. Me likey

i would love it…. still would want to see what we do with the left tackle and left guard spot.

right after the first day, i am going to be so anxious to see what we do the next day

The music in most highlight videos are so corny… I pick Trufant mostly because I think he would be better on special teams. Rhodes is really good though, no doubt.

They both cover well, Rhodes is actually the stronger tackler. I take Xavier by a decent margin; wouldn’t take Trufant at 11 but would take Rhodes. Other players at different positions better than Trufant at 11. Trufant in 20′s; Rhodes a true lockdown corner who’s very strong tackler.IMO

I’ll take Rhodes in this one!

i went Trufant, two things stuck out that i liked. tackling and they’re always around the ball. what i didn’t like, Holding and pass interference from both, all day long. that is coachable, but it puts them on the PS or ST. Trufant, has better covering technique. he take better angles and puts himself in better positions to defend passes and make plays.
