Eric Winston Still Waiting For A Contract

Eric Winston and the San Diego Chargers talked about possible contract, but Winston walked away looking for a better deal. He still is searching for that deal today. He was trying to work a deal with the Dallas Cowboys, but that didn’t pan out. He is wandering around that free agency market trying to find a good deal.

Winston is looking for $3 million to $4 million a year on a short deal, but he hasn’t found that contract yet.

The Chargers likely have a contract around the $2 million/year in mind. If the Chargers sign Eric Winston to be their right tackle, then it would probably be followed by a Jeromey Clary release. The Chargers would be able to save $2.3 million with that release and help pay for the Winston deal.

The longer Winston is waiting for a contract, the better the chances are for him to become a Charger. The interest is there on the Chargers part, they just are looking for the numbers to line up.

Dunlap, Reinhardt, hardwick, troutman, Winston. Rivers can now at least be up for more than 1 sec.

even better….. dunlap, warmack or cooper, hardwick, troutman, winston

That would be good, Ernie. If TT does that, Rivers would have a chance.

even better…. johnson, dunlap, harwick, troutman, winston.

It would be great if he would stop trying to get Jake Long money and sign. That said, we need to start thinking further down the draft board for some of these needs, especially if Cooper, Warmack, Johnson and Fisher are gone. We might need to target people like Barrett from Bama, Long from Oregon, Armstead out of Arkansas Pine Bluff or Thomas out of Tennessee.

  • Preston Niedert

Well at least the chargers know his asking price and have talked with him about a contract. Now it’s on Winston to make the choice.

People keep talking about moving back. Which team wants our 11th pick?

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

possibly the 49ers. they would be interested in drafting Tavon Austin… but moving back is easier said than done

      • JoseSD

Or the Rams 16th plus their 2nd rd would be really good

also read somewhere that maybe the vikes

  • Nitemare

Johnson warford harwick troutman Winston as a offensive line or if they plan on trading back wit 49ers TE Tyler Eifert will be good at 31 n get warford n armstread in the second round

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

If Johnson is there.. .can’t see us passing on him and that offensive line would be sick with warford right there. if troutman can’t do it, we put Rinehart right there.

trade back allows us to get a weapon somewhere.

maybe he should have kept his juvenile whiney ass mouth shut in KC
