Sheiff Floyd or however you spell it or Barkman Mingo, his numbers sucked for a guy being considered a top 15 guy, ya he’s a crazy athlete but he might not do much if he couldn’t put up numbers against lesser talent college.

Tavon Austin…. Only joking Ernie. Probably Geno Smith

jarvis jones. on a different topic, i would love to see us pick leon mcfadden

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i would love leon mcfadden also…. i think Jarvis Jones could BUST for sure

      • JoseSD

The only reason I would stay away from Jarvis Jones is he has the same condition Marcus McNeil had coming into the draft, we got a good 4.5 seasons from him but the neck stingers and injuries caught up with him, remember that big neck roll he wore his last 2 years. McNeil slipped into the second round because of his neck, it seems like the risk paid off but it hurt us when he fell apart and nowthe team is in the predicament they’re in now, Jarvis Jones could end up like him or even Merriman taking the league by storm and then dropping off the radar completely

    Cordarelle Patterson anyone?

That’s the trouble with the draft. Hard to tell who will bomb with the analysts hyping up certain ones. You find out later, who busts. NFL Network was doing a feature on how many draft picks for NFL teams were actually starters in the NFL. It’s not all great odds that these guys are NFL ready or will ever be ready.

Right now I can’t see anyone busting..but that is how all the draft hype makes you think–hopeful and these guys are the next greatest thing to hit the NFL. Then reality sinks in.

They are saying that Justin Blackmon is a bust (last year draft pick for the Jags).

I was just thinking —what about these coaches? Could it be they don’t know how to prepare these rookies or what? One good coach for rookies and “draft projects” is the Bengals coach. He seems to draw the talent out of these newcomers. Everyone said Vontaze Burfict was no good–undraftable. Guess they were wrong.

    • JoseSD

They said Justin Blackmon was a bust? After one year? Id say the Quarterbacks throwing to him, Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne are busts.

Agreed. They were talking about him on NFL Network. I believe that Charlie Casserly said it and people were pretty much nodding.

Also, broadening their discussion, it was whether these draft picks also are even “NFL readY’ which is what they called it. Not even ready to start in the NFL versus those who turned out to be an impact player from the drafts.

    Ansah.

  • RussinSactown

The question is whether the guy drafted is ready and in the right system. You can be a stud but if you’re in the wrong system, not playing to your strengths, you might as well play with ankle weights on.

You are on a roll today, Russell. Good explanation.

Walterfootball’s latest mock has us trading up to the #6 with yes the freakin Browns just so we can get Johnson. What would it cost us, our #11 & #45. Oh my

Then to make things more interesting in the 3rd we take another OT Dallas Thomas and then in the 4th just to get us nice and heated we take QB Tyler Wilson.

Hey Walter remember we have a few spots to fill on defense too, so our 5th 6th and 7th picks are our starting NT SS MLB? I don’t think so.

Imagine if this actually happened, we would have addressed the O-line hardcore but at the expense of every single position on defense. Pagano would get a mild heart attack if he reads this proposed mock…..don’t read it coach…..it’s make believe. lol

More like fisher wtf way to high

I know we have other issues, but I tell ya, if TT actually did this, it would show Rivers a lot. That TT is not planning on hanging him out there and setting it up for failure. He would actually be giving Rivers a chance. Realistically, I don’t think this latest mock draft is going to happen, but it would speak volumes as to what TT actually thinks of Phillip Rivers.

Eh… Maybe… But this move isn’t screaming at me.

  • csmaring

The one thing I am sure of for the draft, no one could possibly equal the dissappointment of the Ryan Leaf selection

      aint that the truth
