Jarvis Jones Unimpressive During His Pro Day

Georgia LB Jarvis Jones was unimpressive during his workouts at his Pro Day today. He ran a 4.90-second 40 yard dash today at Pro Day. That is slower than Manti Te’o, who also disappointed scouts.

That could get Jarvis Jones to slip down NFL Draft Boards. Jones is one of the top pass rushing prospects in the draft, but that slow speed will have people looking over the tape again and questioning his selection.

Now, there will be questions about his health and questions about his ability, He could be there at 11. We might have those very same questions as other teams.

Speed was a big part of his game at the college level. He beat offensive linemen off of the edge with his speed rush and that is how he beat on quarterbacks. He is not a huge linebacker, so that slower speed is a little concerning.

I wonder how much stock Tom Telesco and the crew put into measurables or onto tape?

Sometimes the 40 is over hyped I bet going after a QB he’d be quicker!

they should have put a qb at the end of the 40

      • Rob Base

For sure the pressure must have got to him. He looks quicker than that.

In a game situation is where I expect to see his speed. Unless he picks up a fumble pass rushers aren’t running in a straight line.

I agree, he’s got game speed and agility. Did they say how many reps he benched? His shoulders look huge in that pic.

Really should stop mentioning this guy :/ we are going o line in the 1st round unless all top3 tackles and top 2 guards are gone, then we will go after a DT or CB lol

  • Cgoodness13

    He’d be a better 4-3 DE than a 3-4 OLB anyways

  • blu3ny3llow

Hopefully he falls to the 2nd rd …but might be a better 4-3 end……I would want them to draft Brandon Jenkins from Florida state in the 4th or 5th Rnd

Does this mean aj will consult the redskins to trade up an draft him anyway?
