The San Diego Chargers have added another body to the offensive line by signing OG Rich Ohrnberger. Ohrnberger was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2009 and spent last season with the Arizona Cardinals, starting 4 games for them.

Just another body to throw at the problem that has experience starting. Now we have Chad Rinehart, Johnnie Troutman, Ohrnberger and King Dunlap that can play guard for us on the roster. Ohrnberger can also play center if needed.

He was signed to a one year deal.

Solid pick up, we needed more depth at guard, and telesco addressed the issue, just need some starters lol

  • Preston Niedert

What about Eric Winston is he still in the chargers plans.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      Still a possibility

  • Rob Base

Depth but what about Winston? Miami didn’t sign him yesterday so wtf!

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Watch we sign Winston and draft all defense.

      • Lee

that would be sick but we should get another wide receiver

        • RussinSactown

          And a running back.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      Still possible

  • tbell11

Now instead of drafting a guard in round 2, they can get an ILB to play alongside butler

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

One step closer to Manti, have they interviewed him or worked him out?

      • http://www.standupforkids.org blackroseMD1

No. They talked to his girlfriend though. She didn’t have much to say.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

          So good

          • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

            That was a good one

      • Cgoodness13

Hes going to the ravens in the first round, if he can make it through them and the rest of the 2nd round we should pick him up

      • tbell11

Only one I know of is the LB from Oregon, at pro day

      • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Like we would know… Telesco is a secretive little dude

        • http://www.facebook.com/pete.spinning Pete Spinning

          Run tell that ; )

      • Per Ola Öberg

Im not sold, he was bad against Bama, The team playing the most pro like football of his opponents.

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

I’m guessing one of these guards is going to start or maybe they both rotate in and out. Cool to see our coaches pick off guys they liked, im.sure both will be solid. Man those are some good names lol who’s next Olendorph? (Made him up)

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      Hahahaha

  • Supercharger77

I’m starting to see an underlining theme here with telesco and I like it. Bring in as many versatile affordable o-lineman and see what u can get out of them. We still have troutman so they can concentrate on left tackle in draft and best players in each round. I say take a lethal wr before the 3rd round. Telesco has a lot of options now. Smart move!

    • Cgoodness13

      Troutman should be a beast

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      I love it

  • jose

So we are picking up all back ups to back back up what starters?! King was bad!

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Were going the no name route, why not if our coaches hand picked these dudes off their old teams they know something about each of them that we don’t.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

Tyronne green and mike Harris were bad also… And Jeromey clary

      • http://www.facebook.com/pete.spinning Pete Spinning

        Worse?

    • Cgoodness13

It looks like we are signing former starters who can play, but are average

  • arnie

i like this pick-up. the only down side seems to be this guy was cut because he was injured, at a time when they needed him to play. What comes to mind, he was expendable. Translation very solid player, probably would still be with a team had he not gotten hurt. Ohrnberger could replace a player like Dombrowski, or push one of the younger guys to step up their game.
What i see is Telesco getting young players, that have started, and come cheap. Let them come into camp and “EARN” a starting spot. Or make the roster. let nothing be handed to a player, simply because of draft position, or favoritism.
Regardless, i can see that whoever starts on the O-line, they will be better than the 2012′ squad. because “Big Name” FA, don’t guarantee wins. they just eat up guaranteed money.

    • http://www.facebook.com/pete.spinning Pete Spinning

Exactly. Let these guys earn a roster spot… some are versatile, and have a shot at different positions. Having multiple players that give you depth at a position, can only be a good thing.

Glad to see a new signing… my popcorn was getting stale… lol.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

hahahaha… i know right… .even people we don’t know makes me excited
