tell me why it was funny that he had to adjust the mic down to start the interview?

    • arnie

LOL!!!! because the footstool that gave him wasn’t high enough? LOL!!!
Whatever. keep this in mind though Ernie. Don’t get caught up looking at the wrong things about Woodhead. His height is one of them. Either you can play in this league, or you can’t. Woodhead has proven, in his three seasons of football, he’s been more productive than Mathews, with less touches.
Coaches are narrow minded. Bigger, Stronger, Faster. that’s all they see. true story; when i was coaching, my mentor used to give me the little guys, because, “…they can’t do anything…they’re to small….” so instead of thinking his way, i adjusted my coaching. instead of letting them get pushed around by the big kids, i taught them to get away from them, and play sideline to sideline. Why? when the RB reversed field, guess who was waiting for them? my little guys. hey my smallest player, taylor, could run so fast, he’d trip over his own feet sometimes. but on several occasions, guess who made the plays and stopped the other team from scoring?
      the smallest player.
if we’re looking at Woodhead size, we’re focused on the wrong thing.

    Excited about “The Woodhead”
    heck of a signing :)

  • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Anybody interested in Urlacher for our open MLB position? I’d be down for a one year stop gap. He can cover the pass, stop the run and still makes a few plays, Waay more productive then Takeo ever was.

    • FitzWilly

depends on what kinda $$$$$ he’s looking for
isn’t he injured all the time???????

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

He started 12 out of 16 last year…..who knows

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

no thanks. don’t want to kick the tires on that. when was the last time he wasn’t injured? not a good fit

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

ya I’m with you, youth at all positions is best for the way things are headed. They are going to have to sign a couple vets but not ones who want the bigger $. But if he was one of our veteran stop gaps I would be kinda excited to watch him I guess.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

there will be better options… there always seems to be cheap middle linebackers lying around somewhere… would even let bront bird get playing time before giving it to Urlacher

    • Joel Garcia

I was thinking the same thing ! He brings leadership with a toughness that that the chargers been lacking and that is exactly was the chargers need & are looking for looking for.

      • arnie

Joel, didn’t we already have that in Takeo Spikes? The problem is Urlacher would not be cheap, and put the Chargers back in the same position, that lead to Spikes release. a good vet, with great leadership skills, that does not have the tools anymore.

I like that one. Plus he brings a “chip on his shoulder”. He’ll bring leadership and some anger.

  • Lee

anyone know what the $$$ was on woodhead’s contract?

Love Danny Woodhead!!! But, those questions they asked him were awful. Did that guy at the end ask him the exact same question as the guy earlier about what made him sign here, or am I trippin’? Then, they asked him about the crown rule again, right after he just got done saying that he had put no thought into it, whatsoever! NFL has already turned 5 minutes of material about the crown rule into a three hour multi-day show on NFL Total Access… do we really need to address it twice in our newest players press conference, after he just got done telling you he doesn’t give a crap? Good lord… I would have rather heard him answer a fluffy question, like “who is your favorite Charger” or something.. LMAO… end of rant.

    • FitzWilly

I sure hope he’s happy to be a Charger, and excited to get
started and also do whatever it takes to help the team win :)

      Talk about a Deja-Inter-Vu
I thought my PC was stuck on Auto-Loop :)

Agreed. I was thinking… “This is what I almost got a speeding ticket on the way home from work for”? LMAO!
