Chargers Re-Sign RB Ronnie Brown to 1-Year Deal

This is a little head scratcher for me. The San Diego Chargers re-signed Ronnie Brown for another year after signing Danny Woodhead to a 2-year deal. Both players, Brown and Woodhead, have a very similar skill sets. Woodhead is the better one of the two, but how does Coach McCoy plan on using them both.

Ronnie Brown struggled running the football with the Chargers, but so did everyone else on the roster. He did do well as an option in the passing game for Philip Rivers though. Ryan Mathews, Danny Woodhead and Ronnie Brown are the 3 guys holding down the runningback spot on the roster.

It’s a veteran and we do know that Ryan does get hurt a lot. I still hope the team looks to the draft to find someone else that can help the guys out carrying the football. I don’t see Ronnie Brown as a possible starter for Ryan when he goes down. Bring in a Le’Veon Bell in the draft or something to take some carries away. Mike McCoy will have plenty of options back there.
