Dallas Cowboy Cut LB Dan Connor. Chargers Should Pursue

The Dallas Cowboys have cut ties with LB Dan Connor today. Connor may not be a big time name, but he would be a perfect fit for the Chargers in the middle of the defense next to Donald Butler.

The Chargers cut ties with Takeo Spikes last week and don’t have a solution on the roster to fill that spot. Connor shouln’t cost that much on the open market and he has much fresher legs than old man Spikes. The pairing makes a lot of sense.

Now, will Tom Telesco pick up the phone call? Pick up the phone and get Connor! We need to fill holes. Connor would be a quick answer in the middle of the defense and the team could then focus on some other pressing needs. We have to fill these holes at some point.

Dan Connor. Donald Butle., Jarret Jonson. Melvin Ingram. That would work.

i cant wait…. quick wikipedia for Connor:

      Pre-draft
Connor’s superlative college career led to his #23 ranking on Sports Illustrated‘s list of the top 25 2008 NFL Draft candidates.[6]
He ran a 4.63 40 yard dash at his Pro Day. He also bench pressed 225 lbs 22 times and jumped 35″ vertically.
      [edit]Carolina Panthers
Connor was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round (74th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.[7] Due the Panthers’ wealth of talent at linebacker, Connor played sparingly—mostly on special teams—in the first 3 weeks of the 2008 season before a torn ACL suffered during a loss to the Minnesota Vikings ended his season.[8]
Despite reportedly fielding several trade inquiries during the 2010 offseason, the Panthers made it clear Connor would compete for a starting job that season after the team released veteran linebacker Na’il Diggs.[9]
      [edit]Dallas Cowboys
Connor signed with the Dallas Cowboys on March 15, 2012, reuniting him with former Penn State teammate Sean Lee.

he is a solid player in the middle. won’t be a human highlight film, but would be better than almost anything we have

When I heard Dan Connor was released thought he would be a good fit with the chargers. He would start right away and he is young and can play multiply spots he would fit right in with this youth movement the chargers are doing.
