Chargers Looking to Re-Sign Aubrayo Franklin

Aubrayo Franklin was a beast in the middle of the defense. He was the anchor that was needed on the defensive line, clogging up the middle and allowing his linebackers to make plays. He was perfect for the San Diego Chargers defense and that is the reason why the Bolts want to bring him back.

Aubrayo Franklin is one of the Chargers that will become a free agent at 1pm tomorrow. The team knows his impact and John Pagano knows how much that big body helps the defense.

If Franklin chose to join another club, the Chargers would only have Cam Thomas in the middle. Antonio Garay is still on the roster, but he is expected to be a cap casualty soon too. Garay would clear $5M in cap space when releases. He can’t be kept around for that type of money.

Franklin is not a big name that other teams will be rushing for, but teams that have a need for a nose tackle in a 3-4 defense will definitely have their eyes toward the veteran. Re-signing Franklin would be a nice step in the right direction for the defense. It will allow the youngsters Kendall Reyes and Corey Liuget to get upfield and make more plays.

I agree… The natives are restless.. Lol. They are starting to curse management before they have had a chance to do anything. These guys aren’t dumb. They DO have a plan. Maybe its just shell shock from the AJ years, but people need to give them a second. They have a billion holes to fill with almost no money to do it with. Its like trying to take your wife out for a nice anniversary dinner with $50… Hahaha!

I know! you can read on the other articles people are ripping into telesco for not signing any free agents. And I said free agency doesn’t even start until tomorrow, give them more than the month and a half that they’ve been on the job and wait til they actually make a move before you criticize the new management. They’re being smart already almost doubling the cap space and releasing garay will clear more. Im excited for tomorrow

I mean, they had to go over reels and reels of film, just to find out what player decisions they should make… Then they have to make an immediate decision on the spot if the players they are looking at are valuable, just had a bad year, or have potential of any kind of help.. then they have to figure out what their draft plan is… then wrap their heads around who may get paid more to go to another team BEFORE they can sign them, and decide if they should cut a player who might be the only replacement if said player leaves… all of this on the tail of a whirlwind hiring, a completely new coaching staff, a trip to the senior bowl, and a cross country trip to the NFL combine… Oh, and they needed to figure out how to make more cap money too… and put a winning product on the field in 2013. All in 45 days.
I keep hearing Chris Rock’s voice in the back of my head:
“Can a guy take a shit before he’s called a failure”? Hahahaha! People need to calm down. I’m sure these guys have toothpicks holding their eyes open.

          • JoseSD

Exactly, and now that Garay is finally released they now have a little over 16 mil in cap space when they started with 6

  • Rob Base

Hope we get him back. I can’t wait for tomorrow! Get er done Telesco!

  • JoseSD

I’ve been saying this is one of the guys we need back he was one of the main reasons the run defense improved and declined when he got hurt

    • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Guess he is gone now to the Colts. They couldn’t get him signed.

  • 619chargers4life

hope to see him in the middle of the D this season

So far i see a pattern, reward good players with contracts. show over price players the door.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

And that is a good pattern
