Baltimore Ravens Trade Anquan Boldin to San Francisco 49ers

Feb 3, 2013; New Orleans, LA, USA; Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin (81) catches a pass in front of San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers (22) during the fourth quarter in Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Mandatory Credit: Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

First the Seahawks brought over Percy Harvin to the division and now the San Francisco 49ers made thier counter move. The San Francisco 49ers have traded a 6th round pick for WR Anquan Boldin, per Aaron Wilson.

Boldin helped beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl and now he will be trying to go back-to-back championships with different franchises. The 49ers got a steal in this one!

Boldin will be teamed up with Micheal Crabtree on the 49ers receiving units and be a tough, physical duo. Colin Kaepernick must be smiling after making that move. Joe Flacco… not.

Good lord, I know they didn’t want to pay the guy but trading him to your new biggest Rival you beat in the Super Bowl? Come on now, you got to draw the line somewhere, Flacco said “He need’s to hold his ground and get paid” and now he has no #1 wideout lol. Crazy what’s next Revis to the Niners?

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

remember when the niners SUCKED not too long ago?

      • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Hell ya, their building a very functional super team and have 10 million draft picks. They have more good picks then they have holes to fill, Oh what a magical special teams they will have.

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

hahahaha,,,i wish they wanted to trade to pick 11!

          • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

If I was them, I would seriously draft Cornell Washington in the 3rd and have him lead my special teams. That guy is so crazy looking, buffest looking guy at the combine and would be a serious force. lol

          • JoseSD

Im kinda hopin the Rams want to trade their 16 and 20something they got from Washington to move up to 11

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i would love it… but who would they want? Lane Johnson?

          • JoseSD

Most likely, then maybe chargers could get Cooper and Trufant in the first round

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

and that would be a HUGE win on that trade!

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

or maybe they would want Cordarelle Patterson

  • nate lew

Russ Wilson vs Kaepernick is going to be a Brady vs Manning like rivalry over the next decade. You heard it hear first.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      its going to be SICK!

    • lblocz

plus its at least twice a year match ups

  • Preston Niedert

What where the ravens thinking trade blodin that makes no sence and now the San fransciso just became that much harder to beat meanwhile the ravens get a sixth round pick and the ravens are back on the market for WR this move makes no sences if you ask me.

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

They weren’t going to pay him 20 Mil and stuck to that and now they need a #1 WR

      • Preston Niedert

I understand that part but that hurts the ravens and would you trade him to the 49ners of all the teams that makes no sences what so ever.

        • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

It really doesn’t, ship him off to the middle of no where not the guys you beat in the big game. Weirdest trade ever

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

right… trade him to the Vikings or something

          • Preston Niedert

Really no team was willing to offer a 4 or 5 round pick. The 49ners got a steal and they have even used free agency yet. Meanwhile the chargers haven’t even offered Vasquez a deal yet just what have the chargers been doing beside sign a long snapper and a kicker. Wow those moves really get the chargers fans excited and they wonder why chargers fans have not filled up the seats in the stadium.

Where are you getting those numbers? He wasn’t even close to the being the highest paid receiver.

        • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Wow a double post on a joke, must have ruffled your feathers, I rounded up 14 mil.

          • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

hahahhaa… i missed that math class

          • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

lol Seriously I got Flacco’s deal mixed up with his, I had no clue it was 6 Million your unwilling to pay your super bowl champion. Even lamer now that I know the exact figures.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Sorry for acting like a pain in the butt, but if he had actually asked for $20 mill–no–no team would pay Boldin that. But $6 mill is not unreasonable, as we saw when the 9ers picked him up right away. I can’t recall what we are paying Meachem but I believe it is not less than $6 mill. Just my opinion, but Boldin is as good or better than Meachem.

      • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Here is what he gets paid. It is a far cry from $20 mill.

Breer also reported that there will be no alteration to Boldin’s salary in 2013 — he still is set to make $6 million this season. A 49ers source told Breer that the sides might consider something later.

  • Rob Base

Wish we had some exciting trades oh well.

  • JoseSD

A 6th rounder!! Steal of the offseason so far

  • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Weird that Boldin got traded to the other Harbaugh. Actually, how convenient. What? No other NFL team was willing to offer a 4th or 5th round pick and take on his salary?

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

      right!

Don’t know where to post this. I just read that Beanie Wells from the Cards got released. The article was saying he was a first round selection by Whisenhunt that never panned out for AZ.

Let’s hope Whisenhunt has better luck here.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

i know right… Beanie Wells equals Ryan Mathews. i almost wrote something up on it… but didnt even know what I wanted to say about it.

      • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

I have a concern about Whisenhunt running the offense. He hasn’t had a whole lot of success lately., I am sure he will be involved in the draft, free agent signings (if any), etc.

        • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Kolb & (pick any of their RB’s) with a below average O-line is the biggest problem. I’m not concerned at all, at least it’s not Norv.

          • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Whisenhunt had a hand in picking Kolb and giving up so much.

  • http://www.facebook.com/lostkiara Stefanie Smith

Here’s another interesting observation from NFL Network. They were talking about the Colts and said the Colts will go to free agency and whatever they don’t get done with free agents, then they will look to the draft.

With the Chargers, Telesco is approaching it the exact opposite. Draft first and free agency, maybe sometime.

Yeah, he should be doing something with free agents out there. It’s a buyers’ market, salaries are going to be lower, etc. But I understand that the Chargers have a bunch of overpriced players not performing that we are stuck with.

  • Cgoodness13

Shouldn’t have payed flacco that much then lol, coulda let him walk and draft Barkley probally
