At 9pm tonight, the San Diego Chargers and the rest of the league will get their opportunity to talk with agents for players that are becoming free agents. Let’s see what Tom Telesco has in his bag of tricks. The preparations are already starting to begin by releasing players like Takeo Spikes sand Atari Bigby.

Here are some of the rules of this new negotiating window:

• Contact is restricted to a team and an agent. A player under contract to one team through Tuesday cannot talk with another team.

• A player who doesn’t have an agent — Baltimore safety Ed Reed handles his own affairs — isn’t allowed to talk with a team until Tuesday.

• Player visits are not allowed until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Players who have been released — offensive tackle Eric Winston, defensive end John Abraham — are free to visit and sign at any time.

Once Tuesday hits, the San Diego Chargers should have a few free agents. They will have to get a qualifying offer in on their restricted free agents before Tuesday also. Danario Alexander is the biggest restricted free agent that needs to get a qualifying offer.

This weekend should have a ton of rumors flying on who the Chargers are talking to. It should be fun.

I hope the chargers at least sign two or three free agents Shonn grenne, brandon moore, max starks. Why you might ask is simple they won’t break the bank and the chargers can focus on signing there own ppl and prapare for the draft. Also I hope the chargers don’t draft lane johnson instead they get eric fisher.

then you would have to hope people pass on eric fisher that many times

I’m not sold on lane johnson. If he is the pick then put him at RT I think the oline will have one or two startes and LT shouldn’t be one of them unless is luke joekle or eric fisher or a proven LT which we won’t sign.
