Kansas City Chiefs Released OT Eric Winston

The Kansas City Chiefs threw another wrench in our whole NFL draft today by releasing OT Eric Winston, per Albert Breer. Winston was their starting right tackle and it could mean that the Chiefs are getting ready to move Branden Albert or whoever they draft with the first overall, Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher, pick to right tackle.

I would love for the Chargers to move in on Winston and put him in at right tackle over Jeromey Clary. We all love Jeromey! BUT that likely will not happen. Unfortunately, Clary is one of the better linemen on the team right now.

So much for an offensive tackle sliding down to us in the draft! SIGH! Patterson, Warmack, Cooper, Ansah (you know who this is for).. here we come!!

the fact that clary is one of our best lineman is just sad.

  • Preston Niedert

The chargers should pick up eric winston and draft lane johnson and resign vasquez and the oline will be a lot better then last year poor excuses for a oline.

    • tbell11

Would be great but what are the odds of that happening

      • Preston Niedert

Pretty good depends on what Tom telesco thinks of Eric Winston. He was a good player in a zone blocking scheme and the Chargers could at least talk to him it dosnt hurt to talk to a player right.

  • JoseSD

Winston was very good in Houston’s Zone Blocking Scheme, I think the cap hit for releasing Clary would be too much to release him though

I’m just going to keep saying Ansah, speak it into existence as my crazy wife would say. Only problem with that now (just like Johnson) I don’t think he will be there at #11. He’s climbing fast up the boards just like Johnson and both are getting mocked out of our reach. I seriously hope two teams super reach for a QB and that pushes one of those two to us. Don’t you wish we had a extra pick this year? Lol

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

Come on Buffalo/Oakland/Jags/Jets you know you want a young stud Qb, use that first pick on one. Best idea ever.

  • Rob Base

I’m getting frustrated still no moves yet! Telesco isn’t going to do anything till free agency opens up on Tuesday or what! Us Bolt fans need some excitement or movement or something!!

    • TheReturnOfMrBlanks

What if Tuesday comes and they pull a Padres move and sign no body lol that would freakin blow.

      • Rob Base

        That would suck.
