Cincinnati Bengals RT Andre Smith is looking for a contract that will pay him $9 million per season, via Pro Football Talk. Just take the Chargers out of the discussion right now. There is no way that the San Diego Chargers will fork over $9 million a season for Andre Smith. We don’t even have that much cap room available right now.

Hopefully the price tags on these left tackles start to fall. Time to look in a different direction, Andre Smith and Jake Long are looking for big time deals. I wonder what Kansas City Chiefs LT Branden Albert will be looking for in a deal.

For the improvements that must be done, have to open up at around 20 million dollars, so Garay is just the first of many cuts coming.

Doesn’t seem like that many reliable options for our Bolts at the LT position in free agency. Have to free up a lot of money. I wonder what Telesco next move is going to be.

Should be interesting to see what changes Telesco brings.
We have historically gotten cheap, “hand me down” players in free agency

When all the numbers are tallied, we probably have a little cap carry over from last year to add to the regular cap space.

Cap Space Strategy: If the following players are cut, it will open up a little under 18.5 million in cap space: Gaither, Clary, Garay, Royal, Spikes, McClain, English, Bigby, McMichael, Baxter. Add to the fact that Rivers & Weddle are open to renegotiating their deals which might open up an additional 5-8 million dlls, there are options. Time to get to work Telesco.

the gaither cut won’t free up any salary though.

Out of what I have read they would save 500 k, so what is better keep the big lazy, and maybe trust him at RT or save 500K and get rid of lockeroom cancer. I’ll take the 500 K.
