Morning Dump: San Diego Chargers News Around the Web

Did everyone catch the underwear Olympics over the weekend? I can’t say I watched all of that madness! I would rather just look over the highlights of the event, instead of sitting around and watching that for the whole day. Some prospects made a name for themselves though for sure.

Philip Rivers wasn’t the solution last year, but he sure isn’t the problem. He needs to cut down on his turnovers, but better protection, a trustworthy running threat and an additional pair of hands will help him do just that. Charlie Whitehurst is a capable backup, but a decent third-string QB should be on the to-do list.

Last year, the Chargers and wide receiver Robert Meachem began their high-priced partnership on an off note. They’ll have one more chance to make it right.

We had a decent back up QB on Third string and A.J.and Norv let him go to S.F. Scott Tolzen.

They needed the roster spot, for the not-so-hot picks an FA that did’t quite live up to expectations.

Let’s be clear, the only reason Meachum is still on the roster for next season, it’s cheaper to keep him. Telesco is being smart. As long as you have to pay him, use him. At least his money is not guaranteed after next season.

yup… would be surprised if he lasts past next season.
