Tyrann Mattieu Looking For A Team To Give Him A Chance

Tyrann Mathieu has to shed his reputation and needs to build a new reputation going into the league. Just a couple of seasons ago, the ‘honey badger’ set the highlight reels on fire. He was on a fast pace to a first round selection. Then came a suspension for his extra curricular activities off of the field.

After spending a whole season off of the field, Matthieu is at the combine proving that he didn’t sit at home smoking pot and playing video games the whole time.

He stepped in front of the media today and shared that ‘honesty’ is his best friend. All the NFL teams know everything that is going on with him and hiding it wouldn’t help anything out. Mathieu is looking to shed the ‘Honey Badger’ moniker and make things new. He has been working and hoping some team will give him a chance.

Someone will give him a chance! He has too much talent to pass up and the NFL has been giving players second chances for years and years.

Maybe Tom Telesco and Mike McCoy believe in second chances. Mathieu would be a sweet addition to the secondary. He could contribute immediately in a thin secondary and could also help out in special teams. He could join Shareece Wright and Marcus Gilchrist in a young, young secondary. It would be an interesting pick, but I wouldn’t mind taking that chance.

Where do you try and draft him?

I’ve seen him drafted in 3rd round in some mocks, that might be to early. But if he’s there in the 4th rd. I wouldn’t mind taking a chance on him.

Depending on FA 3rd wouldn’t be to bad either. But for now there’s to many holes on the roster.

Around 3rd or 4th also… If 4th, would be best

Don’t know if he lasts that long though

He really messed up his chances today. Only did 4 reps in the weight lifting. That might not mean anything, other than he came unprepared and spent little to no time in the weight room when he was out of football.

Hope he gets a chance, and better really do something to wow these decision makers.

He would do fine on the Bengals. They seem to have a knack in bringing the best out of players that have had issues off the field.
