The Underwear Olympics starts this weekend, so we will all get a sneak peek at the upcoming talent in the league. For the San Diego Chargers, there are a number of different groups that we will need to focus in on. Here are the main groups that we will be watching:

ANYONE ON OFFENSE! The offense was booty last season. Mainly, we need to watch the offensive linemen. Offensive tackles and offensive guards will be at the top of our priority list. Watching 300-pound dudes running 40-yard dashes really won’t show how well they will block for Philip Rivers, but it still is impressive to know that they can run 40-yards faster than me.

Running Backs: We have Ryan Mathews, but we need to grab another back. We need to get another prospect on the roster that can run the football. Someone that can help out in the passing game also, blocking and catching passes. There should be some pretty good backs avaialble in the later rounds of the draft. Watch the group and see how some of them perform.

Secondary: Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer are free agents, so we need corners. Also, we still are looking to fill that hole next to Eric Weddle. It is a passing league, so we meed to gran as many of these guys that we can.

I know I want to see how Tyrann Mathieu and Denard Robinson do. What certain players are you interested in watching during the combine?

Want to see Cordarrelle Patterson. A lot of buzz surrounding him, he should be on chargers radar as a replacement for VJ.

Lane Johnson is another player chargers are going to watch. Wonder how fast he’ll run.

I wonder if 11 is too high for this guy, sounds like he’s pretty raw. Maybe drop down a bit and get an extra pick?

Possibly time to look at Dave Molk at guard. The 2012 scouting reports (including the one below) seem to like him in zone blocking schemes.

I hope Eric Fischer does terribly at the Combine and falls to us.

I was wondering if I should foot against some of these guys during the combine also… Haha

They need to look at all positions besides Free Safety and Punter

Id say butler, liuget and reyes are pretty decent young guys.

      • JoseSD

Yes but there’s no viable starter next to Butler at MLB besides Mouton and Spikes will probably get cut. Liuget and Reyes are probably starting at DE next season but Vaughn Martin is a free agent and there’s no backups there eithe. There is a need for a starting caliber player or decent backup at every single position besides Free Safety ( Weddle, Stuckey backing him up) and Punter is my point.

ofc, it did sound like you hated the world there for awhile tho, my bad :)

Molk and troutman will get their chances to show what they can do. We lost our pro bowl left side to injury retire the same year. Fix online and let Rivers make random wr look decent again. Then keep adding talent to our up and coming defence! That’s my call.
