San Diego Chargers Draft Watch: Syracuse LG Justin Pugh

Syracuse Justin Pugh could be an option for the San Diego Chargers in round 3. He is an athletic offensive lineman that should challenge Mike Harris for the starting left tackle job. Harris will get a whole offseason to prep for the season and has a better understanding of what to expect and he should be a lot better than he was last season.

If we do grab a left tackle in the first round or in the second round, Pugh could still be an option and be moved inside. He might actually be better suited to play at guard. There are questions about his length and his quickness to stop speed rushers off of the edge.

If we pick up Lane Johnson or Eric Fisher in the first round, then we can add Justin Pugh out at left guard. It sounds really sketchy to have a couple of rookies on the left side of the offensive line though. Sketchy, but it might be our best option.

I like the guard thing but i dont know about him n harris being the LTs…..maybe harris for RT

  • JoseSD

I liked him at RT but I watched the Senior Bowl and he was terrible at LT. He couldn’t handle speed rushers and DE’s got under his pad level and drove him into the pocket and sometimes he just simply got beat inside with swim moves. Maybe guard is best for him

He’s playing to high to be a LT. Is technique needs work. If I didn’t know better, he looks like clary when he gets pushed back into the pocket.
