The recent event did make me wonder when does character flaws get given a second chance or even a third chance? AJ Smith didn’t want to deal with any attitudes. Shawne Merriman was out with the quickness. Vincent Jackson sat out for a big contract and had a couple of DUIs and we just let him walk away. Antonio Cromartie and his 67 kids and 45 baby mamas were sent packing to New York. I’m sure we wouldn’t mind having some of those guys back on the roster.
Alec Ogletree is a 1st round talent that could be available in the second or third round for the San Diego Chargers. He plays a position that the Chargers could use some help. He could start immediately next to Donald Butler in the middle.
Ogletree is quick and athletic. He was a former safety and had converted to middle linebacker. He stands out on the field and can add some impact plays for the defense. If he is available when the chargers pick in the second round, would you give the kid an opportunity? Would you give him a second chance? What if he is there in the third round?
