New York Jets SS Laron Landy was able keep his fragile body off of the disabled list for one whole season and now he is looking for his pay day. Landry had a Pro Bowl season with the Jets, so it is time to get that money. He is looking for a contract that will get him $6 million/year.
Landry could have been a good investment last season for the San Diego Chargers, instead we signed Atari Bigby. Landry could have filled the gap at strong safety and there would be pressure on the upper management to bring him back this season.
Now, Landy worked his way out of the San Diego Chargers price range. The Chargers currently only have $7M under the salary cap and need to prioritize that money on offensive line help. Landry would have been a good pickup this offseason, but his contract demands are not in our budget. He probably will get hurt in the 4th game of the season anyway.
