San Diego Chargers Draft Watch: Alabama OL Barrett Jones

Alabama, O-lineman
6-foot-4, 305 pounds

Barrett Jones could be a possibility in the 2nd round for the San Diego Chargers. He may not last till the Chargers 2nd pick, but he will be someone to keep our eyes on. He has the versatility to play at any spot on the offensive line and could start immediately for the Chargers. He can play that left guard spot, the left tackle spot if needed and when Nick Hardwick decides to retire, he can play center.

I wonder how he would deal with Philip Rivers‘ antics behind the line of scrimmage though? Check out this video of his pushing AJ McCarron:

We all know that Philip Rivers acts like that often. Jones might drop an elbow on Rivers for those shennanigans. Would that really be a bad thing though?

Jones would be better suited to play guard or center in the NFL. His best position is center. While he is waiting for Hardwick to retire, he can fill the gap at left guard and buy us some time to pick up another stud in the draft.
