Alex Smith Could Join An AFC West Team This Offseason

Colin Kaepernick stole the show for the San Francisco 49ers. He might even win them a Super Bowl. The forgotten man is QB Alex Smith.

Smith lost his starting job and will likely look for a new starting gig somewhere else in the offseason. One of the rumored teams to be interested in Smith’s services is the Kansas City Chiefs, per Ian Rapoport. Smith isn’t a name that really gets opposing teams shaking in their boots, but he is a huge upgrade to Matt Cassel. I wish Matt Cassel could quarterback that team for 10 more seasons.

The Chiefs have a solid supporting cast. They had 6 Pro Bowlers and they hold the top pick in the draft. They already have solid receivers and a Pro Bowl running back, if they can get a solid quarterback, they will be a team that can compete.

Does Alex Smith to KC scare anyone?
