It could be finally coming. The San Diego Chargers could finally be looking to replace their Team Doctor Dr. Chao. Dr. Chao has been of controversy for a number of seasons and the California State Medical Board is currently trying to revoke his license. He has been found liable for medical malpractice twice and the NLFPA believes that the Chargers deserve a doctor that has not been charged with medical malpractice. WELL DUH! We al believe that!

Time to Fire Chao now! We all have been asking for it already!

Fire Norv. Fire AJ. And so so so so close to Firing Chao now. Is this real life?

Here are comments from NFLPA Executive Director Demaurice Smith, provided by UT San Diego:

“There is a team doctor named Dr. Chao who is currently the San Diego team doctor,” Smith said, “who has been found liable of medical malpractice twice — twice. The same doctor was the subject of a DEA investigation. He’s still the San Diego Chargers team doctor.

“Now, I’m not a doctor. I don’t even play one on TV. But it seems to me that the players of the National Football League deserve to have a doctor who’s not been found liable of malpractice, and that’s within the last year.”

Love the “Guten Tag, everybody!” episode!

I am sure that The Chargers could find many Dr. prospects to take Chaos place. Good writtens Chow! Sad that the Chargers waited for the NFLPA to get involved.

      • tubbs45

He was on the short list to be replaced. Telesco and McCoy were probably waiting to get the Strength and Conditioning guys in place before making the change. But it is sad cause had he been removed maybe Deilman would still be playing!!!!

      Dr. Chow.

I’m sure that’s his next stop.

  • Preston Niedert

Okay but I would hope the chargers get someone who is one DUI from losing his license and two steps away from writing a perception to land him in jail lol

You have to wonder why the Spanos family would go along with this jamoke for so long. It takes the NFLPA to bring it up. If they hadn’t, would this goof still be the team doctor? Wasn’t management embarrassed by this nut?

If they pull his license then I’ll agree, but not untill then.

  • tubbs45

Not a surprise after the shit that has gone down on his watch Ellison, Deilman, Keil… It is surprising that he has last this long unless he was supplying AJ’s emotion removing drugs or Norval’s tranquilizers. Two words: Bah Bye

      You mean chill pills?

  • tubbs45

Maybe we can find a Doc that can fix Bid Lazy. Oh wait they probably wont hire a gynecologist… hehehehehe

    • RussinSactown

He doesn’t need fixing. He didn’t come here with the nickname of “Big Lazy” for nothing.

  • http://boltbeat.com/ ChargerGirl Cindi

This is way overdue. Thanks NFLPA!

        • tubbs45

We already had Dr. Doolittle/Dr. Prescribe-much.

          • arnie

LOL, he gave prescriptions? that would imply he was doing his job….LOL
            More like Dr.Feelgood….

    • http://www.facebook.com/pete.spinning Pete Spinning

The new hire will be Dr. Livingstone, I presume… Ha! Yes, I went there.

As long as it’s not Dr. “I don’t know when to take my fuckin’ pro-bowl guard off the fuckin’ field, and he had a God damn seizure on the plane!!!”… Then it’s all good with me.

      Know what I mean? = )

  • arnie

EXCELLENT! the purge is almost complete! Finally the NFLPA does something, other than fill the players wallets. If we’re going to talk about “Player Safety”, then this is a step towards actually mean it.

  • thegorn

Good riddance, I hope. The Spanos family is so dopey that it needs someone to tell them to can that quack. I wonder if Merriman’s career was shortened because of Chao’s malpractice.

About Freaking Time this clown should of been gone over a Decade ago. He’s the #1 reason Chargers and Padres Players took forever to rehabilitate and some cases didn’t. I feel this guy gave the Chargers kickbacks to continue being the Doctor and for him to get additional business as the official doctor to the Chargers. Some would say this a little too late and has caused the team games and possibly Championships. I am glad this happened now before he caused a serious malpractice on one of the players.
