Dolphins LT Jake Long looking for $10 Mill/Year. That Won't Fit The Chargers Budget

Miami Dolphins LT Jake Long is becoming a free agent and he is looking to get his big payday. Sources say that he will be looking for at least $10 mill per season, Pro Football Talk.

Anyone that was hoping for the Chargers to try and make a run at the left tackle can just shut the door on that possibility right now. The Chargers already have $6.5 mill going to dead weight, big lazy Jared Gaither and can’t afford to fork over another $10 on a player that has looked like he is on the decline and has been bitten by the injury bug lately. The possibilities of signing Long were slim already, but that price tag already out of our budget.

Time to start looking at other left tackle options.

Really and what if jake long does return to top from we could sign him to a three year deal and use the draft for the rest LT is the most importain postion next to the QB rework some contracts and free up so more money if the team want to win they would fine away to sign more players and drafting a LT in the draft might not happen cause last I checked chiefs pendin if they resign albert or not would need a LT as well lions egales cardinals so there goes. Luke joeckel. Eric fisher and lane johnson then what I don’t see us drafting fisher unless we trade up all I’m saying is don’t count out signing jake long look at all options then decide not take one look at his price tag then run away if tom telesco make a big move in free angecy or the draft he will finaley show us just how different he and aj smith really are.

In free agency, the Chargers should get ILB Larry Grant from the 49ers, and through the draft they should get an OT, OG, RB, CB, DT, S, and QB. The names are OT Lane Johnson in round 1, OG Larry Warford in round 2, RB Jonathan Franklin in round 3, CB Leon McFadden in round 4, DT Brandon Williams in round 5, S Jonathan Cyprien or J.J. Wilcox in round 6, and QB Landry Jones in round 7 because he could fall that far.

And what if lane johnson is off the board as well then draft OG chance warmack and start from there I’m sure lane johnson play well enough to be a top five or ten pick to many what if’s in the draft stick to pick the next best player routine. Also if they sign two or three free angents to fix the holes why night sign a player that can play a postion and use the draft for other needs cause one way or anothor they will be using free angecy so why not use if early while there are decent players not late while there are little to none left of players.
