Will The Chargers Look At Dwight Freeney in Free Agency?

Dwight Freeney is a free agent this offseason and I wouldn’t normally think that he is a fit for the roster. We do need a pass rusher, but Freeney doesn’t really fit the 3-4 scheme.

There is a new General Manager in town and he may have different thoughts on the situation. Tom Telesco was hired from the Indianapolis Colts and I am sure he has been a big fan of Freeney. Would he want to bring the “linebacker” out to San Diego as a pass rusher?

Who knows what capacity John Pagano would use him in, but Shaun Phillips is a free agent and probably won’t be re-signed. He could be a veteran to be used with Melvin Ingram and Jarret Johnson on the outside. Freeney still can get after the quarterback a little even though he is getting up there in years.

Who knows? It’s Tommy Telesco’s show now and he could want to bring over some familiar faces.

Here is the whole list of free agents from the Colts this offseason:

Really come on use the money to sign RB chris ivory and if you have money to spend on dwight freeney why not use in on get jake long a proven LT not some rookie in the draft who could get rivers hurt and then what we didn’t get a decent backup QB like matt moore so we in up being just like the colts of two years ago think outside the here ppl

Signing Ivory would cost a draft pick. We will need to make a trade for him to bring him here. He is a restricted free agent. Still, I wouldn’t mind using a draft pick to get him

Okay what round pick would the saints take. Third or four or a frist round pick in 2014 I’m think that would be to high but with a new GM who know if he wants to win over the fans he needs to make some eye poping moves withere in free angecy or the draft.

Since he is a restricted free agent, the Saints can put a tender offer to him and depending on what they offer, is what draft pick we would have to surrender in order to sign him. We will watch his situation closely to see if they offer him a tender and what pick it would cost to sign him

I would love to have Freeney! Even at his age he is still a vital part to any Defense!

I say give Austin Collie a shot coming back from a knee injury if he returned to his healthy state he’d be a good option at WR. Also Freeney would be nice for our Bolts D!
