San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy finally started reaching outside the Arizona Cardinals organization for coaching candidates. You could only let Ken Whisenhunt bring in so many of his guys.

McCOy has brought in Buffalo Bills offensive line coach, JOE D’Alessandris, to take over for Hal Hunter’s position and has hired Fred Graves of the Carolina Panthers to take over for Charlie Joiner’s old post.

Who are they? Can’t give you too much information on either of them, but it sounds like Graves has some unorthodox ways to imrove his receivers hands. He has had his receivers routinely catch bricks in order to improve their hands (ESPN).

Hopefully Joe Whateverhislastnameis can throw some bricks in the direction of Jared Gaither to get him moving or get him out the door. His unit in Buffalo allowed the least amount of sacks in 2011. I guess that is some sort of good.

As long as we don’t hear him say, “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”.
