The San Diego Chargers have fired their strength and conditioning staff, per Kevin Acee. The new hiring will be announced soon. These firings would include Jeff Hurd, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Vernon Stephens, Asst. Strength and Condition coach.

I wonder if we hire someone from the Arizona Cardinals staff again. We have already reached in that direction for the offensive coordinator, special teams coach and quarterbacks coach.

Maybe the strength and conditioning crew will join up with Norv Turner and the Cleveland bunch. Hope they don’t pull a groin on their trip out that way.

Tom Telesco and Mike McCoy are starting to make some firings. Let’s see who makes it out.

As many injuries that the Chargers have had, this should have been done three years ago. We are becomming the Arizona Cardinals.

I’ll totally agree with you if they could get Fitzgerald to come play for the Bolts….LOL

Eh…I’ll be more excited when they fire Chao. It’s just a matter of time before he kills someone, I’m sure.

    Is Chao getting the axe?
Telesco has been making some pretty good decisions out of the gate. I’d be surprised if he just arbitrarily decided that the Arizona Cardinals staff was good enough, without looking closely at the details. I mean, John Fox went 2-14 before being fired by the Panthers, and went 7-9, and 8-8 more than a few times while he was in Carolina. There were definitely some good seasons while he was there. But, one man’s gabage is another man’s treasure. He’s got the Broncos winning… whether you attribute that to a weak division in 2011, or Peyton Manning in 2012… they’re still winning. I don’t think you will automatically become as awful as the Cards, simply by hiring some of their staff. I am going to let this play out, and then make judgements when the results are in.

No Kidding but alas that was the old regime whose myopia took this team to the brink now we can rise up like Phoenixes, Arizona pun intended

Man Ernie, talk about ask and ye shall receive….this is great news! Chao next….How much better could the team be if they were stronger, more conditioned, and diagnosed and treated for their injuries that much better? Go Chargers!

About time!! This team has had way too many injuries and it’s always at a certain position. 3 years ago it was the receivers, this year it was the offensive line, and strong safeties, all the MLB’s missed time too. Now they just need to fire Chao, how a guy with 2 malpractice lawsuits is still here is crazy

  • RussinSactown

Maybe we can get the majority of the team through a season now.

One down, Chow to go. At some point they had to see reason. How can you compete in the NFL, if you can’t keep your players healthy. How many times could they reach into FA to fill needs? Now where they go from here, is wide open. All I can say is, the Chargers are identifying the problems, and addressing them.
If taking the cardinals staff, gets this team on the right track, I’m for it.

    Bolts 4 life…..
