Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher At Senior Bowl Weigh-Ins

One player Chargers fans should be watching during the Senior Bowl is Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher. A lot of early mock drafts have Fisher heading to the San Diego Chargers with the 11th pick in the draft.

Today at the weigh-ins for the Senior Bowl, Fisher passed the eye test. He measured in at 6-foot-7 and 305 pounds with 35 inch arms. He has the physical attributes that you would want from a left tackle in the NFL.

Now we have to see how he does during practices and in the game. The Chargers have holes to fill on that offensive line and drafting a strong left tackle will help fix a bunch of things on the offense.

Fisher is expected to be one of the top 3 tackles drafted in April. Luke Joeckel will likely be the first tackle off of the board and then Fisher might be available for the Chargers at 11.

Everybody and their brother knows the chargers need a OLT, like for the last 2 drafts the Rams have needed a WR, and teams jump ahead of them. Maybe its smarter to sign a William Beatty, Brandon Albert, Jermon Bushrod or an expensive Jake Long than wait for the draft for the Left Tackle. I think its smarter to sign one of those guys and draft a Chance Warmack at pick 11.

I know ot is their biggest need but it’s more important to get value at your draft spot. And at 11 I don’t think Fisher is the right choice. Guard isn’t a star position in the NFL but we saw this year how badly we miss Dielman and just how much Green sucked. Warmack is a rare talent at OG and he’s an absolutely beast and mauler and he dominated in the SEC. He would immediately boost the interior rushing game and Mathews wouldnt have to constantly face a defender in the backfield as soon as he gets the handoff. Fisher has what you’re looking for but didn’t face the level of competition Warmack proved himself with. If Fisher is the only option I think they could trade back and pick up an extra second rounder at the very least. But I think the only reason he’s even mentioned at 11 is because Lewan and Matthews aren’t there. I’d rather have warmack then pick up lane Johnson, Pugh, or the other OT from Alabama in the second

They are talking that this guy will go before us now. He is moving up in the draft.
