San Diego Chargers Will Hire Offensive Coordinator To Call Plays

Mike McCoy will not be holding the play sheet on the sideline and he will focus mainly at running the team as the head coach. McCoy said that he will bring in an offensive coordinator to call the plays for the team.

Now the new coaching search for the Chargers will be on who we will bring in as the offensive coordinator. The offensive coordinator search can begin.

Love that he will focus on being a head coaching and won’t bother himself with being the offensive coordinator as well.

Yeah, that was good, Ernie. Are you okay with his gung ho attitude about bringing in a QB for Rivers to mentor?

ha. just responded to you on the other post. Here is what i had:

it has to happen though. they did the same with Peyton Manning in Denver also. They drafted a QB in the 2nd round. Philip will be alright, unless he keeps throwing picks

The way you explain it, okay then. Get a project like Brock Osweiler to get Rivers’ gatorade, be quiet, learn something and only bring in if necessary.

Kinda hope they can draft that guy from Tennessee….. Tyler Bray

        • blu3ny3llow

          In the later rounds

Whatever happened to Jarret Lee wish we could of held on to him or Tolzien,, I doubt the new regime will be as loyal to clipboard Charlie as Norv was

i dont think i am that high on either of them. dont know if either mccoy or telesco have them on the radar either.

Lesson from Norval: let the Head Coach be the Head Coach, the OC be the OC, the two should rarely be combined… good call chargers

love that he is bringing in a dude to call the plays!!! LOVE!

Do you get the feeling that Dean finally got around to reading 7 years of fan comments, that some wise person handed him in 2011… and now he realizes what fans (and professionals) have been begging for, for almost a decade? Or is it Ron Wolf, The Telescope, & The Real McCoy… simply breaking the news to Dean, that “THIS is how a team should be run”.. LMAO!!!

        • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

welcome to 2013 Dean! I think he finally just got the memo

        • tubbs45

The news arrived by horse back to Dean’s ranch house that the Norval Experiment failed in Washington and Oakland. Thank the Lord he called in The Wolf to clean shit up…

You’re sending in The Wolf? Well shit… Why didn’t you say so, Dean?!!!

      EXACTLY!!!

Here’s what Rivers has to say about McCoy:” “Of the potential candidates, I can honestly say this is the guy I was hoping for,” Rivers told Marty Caswell of XEPRS-AM San Diego on Tuesday. “I feel great about it.”

If Rivers is okay with Mr. McCoy, then he’s good enough for this fan.

Biggest mistake Norv made imo, Be a big part of the brain thrust Mon- Sat. but focus on game management and adjustments on Sun. LOVE IT!

    • arnie

i agree. that was many of the Norval mistakes. he screwed himself. Rob Chudinski was right there. and before that, he had the ability to bring in a play-caller when clarence shelmon was obviously not going to.
      oh well. moving on.

  • arnie

And i’m good. great hire. even better, not calling the plays. more so, looks like pagano could be staying put.

  • RussinSactown

One thing I do know. The OC won’t be Norv so we might have a chance.

      Thank God!

  • Joey Nicks

Cam Cameron coming back? Lol. I’m not worried. A lot of potential here! Honestly, eventually Rivers is going will be bound to happen. So grooming someone not a bad call maybe wait till next year though talent pool is slim.

      Ugh. No thanks

      • tubbs45

        agreed no f’in thanks!!!!

  • Raymond Josh

Josh mcdaniels in my opinion would be great teaming up with McCoy.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ Ernie Padaon

it wont be possible unless the Patriots fire him for some reason.
