Outside Perspective: San Diego Chargers New Head Coach Mike McCoy

In order to get some perspective on the San Diego Chargers new head coach, I asked Kim Constantinesco of Predominantly Orange to give her Broncos bias on the hire. Here is what she had to say:

To be honest, I don’t think he’s head coaching material. Peyton ran his own show this year. Last year, McCoy’s play calling with Tebow was terrible. Tebow got his number and wins when plays broke down. I’m surprised McCoy was so highly sought after. Maybe I’m wrong.

CRAP! That isn’t exactly what I wanted to hear from her!

But we will never know what the guy can do until we put him in the driver’s seat. He knows how to make adjustments based on his personnel and that is a plus.

I still want to see who he brings onto his staff as an offensive coordinator and if he decides to bring in any other coaches that have a good background.

We are moving in a different direction and it is without Norv Turner and AJ Smith. That is a step in the right direction.
