Alabama CB Dee Milliner Declares for 2013 NFL Draft

Alabama CB Dee Milliner has decided to turn pro and will enter the 2013 NFL draft. Milliner will likely be the first cornerback selected in the draft and could be a top-10 selection.

With a couple of the offensive tackle prospects deciding to go back to school, Milliner could be a possibility with the 11th pick.

There still is a lot of movement that will take place with the coaching staff and the roster, but Milliner’s name should remain on the radar. Corner is not our biggest priority, but we could try and fill some holes with free agency.

The problem is Tennessee is one spot ahead of us and their pass-defense is horrible so we’ll probably have to trade up to get him. Since our new GM stated that he won’t reach for need, I think Manti Te’o could be a good selection at 11. I wouldn’t mind the Chargers trading down a couple spots to select OG Chance Warmack to replace Green at LG. There is a lot of stuff that still need to be settled first like an HC before we know about a player there leaning towards. Also, this is my opinion on what I think they should do so I could probably be wrong. All I know is the Chargers need two OT, ILB and OLB(if phillips isn’t retained), CB, RB(they’ll probably give Mathews one more chance to see if he can stay healthy). Also, if Rivers continues to go south with an improved O-line, then he’ll need to be replaced. They should keep him to attract a good HC and I still believe he’ll do better protected by a leased a decent O-line.

With the possible departure of Quentin Jammer, Dee Milliner should be the Chargers #1 draft pick this year then work on the o-line. We’ll have to wait and see what the new GM decides to do but he has a great track record for draft picks so I’m stoked to see what he does. Work your magic Mr. Telesco!

It sucks that Lewan and Matthews are both going back but I’ve said before that it’s possible that we miss out on them so trading down for more picks might be best and Warmack or Barret Jones could be good options cause Jones could play both Guard spots and Right Tackle, I think this means going after Jake Long might be a priority unless they do their homework and land a steal in the second round like the Browns did with Mitchell Schwartz last year
