Jake Matthews and Taylor Lewan Are Going Back to School

Who needs an education? These kids want to learn stuff? They want degrees? Why would they go back to school, when they can make millions of dollars in the NFL?

In reality, much respect to both Taylor Lewan and Jake Mathews for deciding to go back to school and pushing the NFL aside for later. The greedy Chargers fan in me is bummed out because we need help on the front line and both players are good fits on the roster. They would be first round picks and could have been available at the 11 spot.

Now we have to put our focus in a different direction, like Alabama. There are a couple of players from Alabama’s front line that should be considered with the 11 pick. Barrett Jones and Chance Warmack will get a lot of consideration with our first round pick. Tommy Telesco better have his scouting reports on both players.

You can always finish school in the offseasons or after NFL, but nothing beats the college experience as a 20 something year old. This is unfortunate for us Chargers =/
I’d say Milliner or DT Hankins in first, LT in free agency.
Mingo doesn’t possess the strength for a consistent nfl pass rusher.
