Tim Tebow Wants Out of New York. San Diego Chargers Should Say No Thank You.

The New York Jets decided to pass over Tim Tebow on the depth chart and start Greg McElroy on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. After that news broke, there is talk that Tebow will be asked to be traded or released at the end of the season.

With our quarterback, Philip Rivers, struggling with turnovers, fans are looking in all directions for a possible backup or new starter to the team. Everyone has their own solutions. Some have mentioned Tebow’s as a possible pickup.

Those talks need to stop. Philip has been terrible, but having Tebow under center would be even uglier. He can run the football and he can run the football and he can run the football. But all he can do is run the football. He is not a quarterback. He is an athlete, but he doesn’t belong under center. If he came to town, he would bring on a media monster and any errant throw that Philip made would inspire Tebow talk.

Out quarterback for 2013 is Philip Rivers. The team needs to focus on surrounding him with weapons. If he can’t produce with weapons around him and a newly built offensive line, then we look at possible replacement. If Tebow was interested in playing another position (fullback? Tight end?), then just maybe we can talk. Probably still wouldn’t want that media frenzy.
