Malcom Floyd, Ryan Mathews to IR. Mike Willie, Damik Scafe Signed

Another week and a few more players hit the IR. This time it is Malcom Floyd, Ryan Mathews and newly signed Reggie Wells. With Malcom Floyd out, the Chargers signed rookie WR Mike Willie to the team. Willie impressed in preseason and is another big target that Philip Rivers can lob the ball to. With Floyd out, it will be interesting to see who the Chargers use in the starting lineup at receiver. Micheal Spurlock could be the starter and Mike Willie could even move ahead of Robert Meachem. Meach has been in the dog house.

The team also signed Damik Scafe to the roster. Scafe is a defensive end from Boston College that was on the practice squad.

Who do you think should start at receiver opposite of Danario Alexander? I wouldn’t mind throwing the rookie in there immediately.

It amazes me how can a multimillion dollar franchise with a scouting and personnel department, gentleman with the sole task of “scounting” the best players, cannot hire a decent pair of wide receivers that the team can depend upon the whole season. I think anybody in this forum with a cheap insider account on ESPN or whatever can do a better job than this so-called proffesionals. At least Alexander fell on their feet by chance because they remembered him how he’d burned them while in St Louis.
