With the injuries to Donald Butler and Demorrio Williams, the San Diego Chargers were in need of some depth at the middle linebacker position. The Chargers signed LB Gary Guyton to add some depth at the position. Guyton has been a member of the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins. He started all 16 games for the Patriots in 2009.

The Chargers should use Bront Bird in the middle of the defense and also give some playing time to Jonas Mouton. The youngsters are going to need to step up in the middle.
