San Diego Chargers – Norv Turner Watch

It seemed like the fate of Norv Turner was written.  Actually, it was, by the UT San Diego in more than one article and splashed across the front page.  Then came Sundays game at the Steelers.  A game that was supposed to give Chargers fans that last little bit of reassurance that Dean Spanos was going to be able to follow through and commit to firing Turner.  The Chargers dominated and Spanos gave Turner the game ball.  What the heck?

Not exactly the reassurance we were looking to get, but I am still optimistic.  Especially with the news of Cam Cameron being let go from the Ravens.  This is a great spot for Norv.  They may possibly already be in a discussion.  Norv may also turn to the Panthers where his son Scott is offensive quality control coach.  They can find a spot in the coaching staff for Norv and being the family guy he is, that would make him happy.

It’s still a three million dollar hit to Spanos, but there may be a clause in the contract that allows for a reduction if Turner lands another job.

That’s all I have for today, I’ll keep you posted as new news comes up.  Boltup!

Until I see a press conference, he’s not fired. For all we know Spanos may pull what he did after the last season and say now “They really need to produce or I’ll fire them for sure this time”!

i hear that! if we keep winning, i think it could save AJ’s job at the very least.

its just too bad Cam Cameron got fired by the ravens plus the panthers and Scam Newton just won big on sunday against ATL

Your article should have said that Dean Spanos is measuring Norv’s neck for the noose he is going to put around it at the end of the season. He is telling Norv ” A. J. says you have to go but you know I love you man” — What a nightmare if Spanos decides to keep Smith because he has two (2013-14) years remaining on his contract. What dumb ass owner would want A. J. Smith unless it was to muck out the locker room. Dean Spanos is the road block to this franchise being a quality NFL team. No, moving to another city will not cure Dean of being a fool. Bolts fans will suffer as long as the Spanos family is in control.

Don’t you mean will continue to suffer?

  • 1961 Fan

Yes, I meant “CONTINUE to suffer” thank you Russel G. for correcting me!
