4th and 29......

Late in the fourth quarter the Chargers had the game in hand. The Bolts forced the Ravens into a 4th and 29 with a 13-10 lead.

What could go wrong? Why worry?

San Diego allowed Ray Rice to pick up 30 yards on said fourth down while playing a pathetic Prevent defense.

I’ve made my opinion on prevent defense clear before. All the Prevent defense does is prevent you from winning.

Lo and behold….. Thanks a lot for reading.

I get putting an extra DB back with the safeties but everybody except the d-line was at the first down marker. Rice had 20 yards free before anyone was close and 5 different guys whiffed their tackles. Even so the refs screwed them with that spot, why isn’t everyone outraged at how bad the officiating is with the “real” refs. But it shouldn’t have come down to that the defense played so well and this bad defensive call killed them

      It was a terrible spot!!!!!!

Even Rice didn’t say he got it, just said I left it up to the ref’s, should not have come to a measurement in the first place

“why isn’t everyone outraged at how bad the officiating is with the “real” refs”

Because Roger Gooddell can’t be criticized for bringing them back. These refs are just as bad, if not worse than the replacements.

Somehow it didn’t surprised me as much. All this season they made some bonehead plays and decisions, it’s getting so frustating it’s deppressing.

The concept: place you impenetrable wall of defenders at the 1st down marker and allow no man to pass.
    I get it.
The problem: a very elite few are privy to the best kept secret in the NFL….<..> <.< you need to wrap a guy up on your tackles.
Rice blew past all those pathetic attempts at tackles because he was having bodies thrown at his legs to trip him up. Amazingly, he moved slightly to dodge them. Clearly he is some sort of wizard, no normal human can lazily dodge moves like that!

And the worst part of it is that the last time it happened in a regular season game without the help of a penalty was in 2001 so the Chargers are relevant again but not in the proper column.
