Running around in circles this morning and missed the morning dump. This was something easy to pump out while on the run. Kim from Predominantly Orange sent me some questions for the week and here are my responses:
We all know what happened the last time these two teams met. What changes do you see the Chargers making to be competitive in this one?
Please don’t remind me of that debacle. I would love to say that we would make some changes, but we still have failed to finish out football games. It started against the New Orleans Saints and then your Broncos made a historic comeback. We only put up a field goal in the second half of games against the Browns and the Bucs. CHANGES? I wish we actually would do something like that, but that doesn’t seem to be in Norv Turner’s game plan.
Philip Rivers is 2nd in the league in interceptions with 13 on the year already? What’s your analysis on his play this season?
He is playing like an idiot. There are moments where he looks like a Pro Bowl quarterback, but then he makes a ridiculous decision and it goes for a pick six. Then, when he is in comeback mode, the turnovers start to pile up.
Since the Broncos last saw the Chargers, the Chargers have gone 1-2. I’m not complaining, but why don’t the Chargers let Norv Turner go?
He will, it just won’t be done till the end of the season. Nobody in San Diego is happy with that decision, but if we release Norv, we don’t even have an offensive coordinator to call the plays. We have Hal Hunter with the title, but we all know who designed the offense. We somehow are still in the playoff hunt and Norv has worked through some stick situations before. He will be the head coach as long as we are in the hunt.
The Chargers’ run defense is 2nd in the NFL and they held the Broncos to just 57 yards on the ground. Do you expect that same kind of performance out of your run defense?
We will be missing a big clog in the middle. Aubrayo Franklin will miss the game with an injury and his backups can’t do as well in the middle. The defense will remain stout, but there will be a little more room to run the ball up the middle.
Finally, what’s your prediction for Sunday’s contest?
Chargers fans yelling FIRE NORV at the top of their lungs after the game.
