Chargers at Broncos: In Enemy Territory

Got with Kim Constantinesco from Predominantly Orange to ask her a few questions on what she thought about the upcoming matchup. Here are her thoughts:

1. How confident are you all in winning the AFC West right now?

With the way the Broncos have been playing lately, I’m very confident the AFC West is ours, barring injury. The Chiefs are the worst team in the league, the Raiders aren’t gelling enough to string together a bunch of wins, and the Chargers look like a mess with their turnover problems. This isn’t locked in stone, but the Broncos only play two teams with a winning record (Baltimore and Tampa Bay) on their remaining schedule.

2. What is the biggest weakness for the Broncos right now?

The Broncos’ biggest weakness right now is the run game. The team is ranked 17th in rushing which is bad comparatively speaking. Within the rushing game, Willis McGahee has been having issues holding onto the ball. He has five fumbles this season, and he’s lost four of them. The Broncos are 2nd in points, but I don’t think they’ve reached their peak. With a little more balance on offense, they can easily tear apart any defense.

3. Don’t you guys love Norv Turner as a head coach?

We’ll be sad to see him go. His name may be tossed around as a nominee in the Broncos’ Ring of Fame discussion.

4. How many more losses do you see for you guys this season?

I see a loss to the Ravens and a loss to the Buccaneers. That would put the Broncos at 11-5 which is more than enough to secure the AFC West in my opinion.

5. Prediction for the game?

Broncos – 34 Chargers – 21. And a standing ovation for Norv Turner
