Oh Philip Rivers, why must you tease us? We see that you still have it! Look at that stretch that you had where you tore up the Kansas City Chiefs defense and then you ripped the Tampa Bay defense to shreds in the first half. You have the highest completion percentage in your career. You still have what it takes…
BUT THEN you have moments where you make the most ridiculous decisions EVER. It is “mind-bottling!”
They seem to happen the same way every single time! His feet are not set and he is throwing off balance and hoping for the best to happen. On a deep pass to Antonio Gates in the game, he threw the ball short and allowed the defender, Mark Barron, to make a play on the ball. If he had the space to make the throw, it would have been a touchdown. The ridiculous throw to the Tampa defender was on a scramble to the right side.
How do we stop this from happening? We give the man some time!!
The biggest loss in the offseason was not Vincent Jackson. The biggest loss was Kris Dielman retiring. It hurts that Jared Gaither only decides to play against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jeromey Clary has a breakdown a few times a game. The line needs to give Philip time and space.
The line is definitely not built for seven step drops either, but someone keeps getting on the headset calling for them. Nope, his name is not Charlie Whitehurst. Someone needs to make an adjustment and that needed to happen a while ago. Maybe last season when Marcus McNeill and Kris Dielman went down?
Why did Philip want Norv back? Not sure, but that decision was worse than his decision to throw to Eddie Royal.
