The Bucs Will Play To The Final Whistle

Cary Edmondson-US PRESSWIRE

When the clock is running out in the 4th quarter and we have a 6 point lead and all we have to do is kill the clock in victory formation, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE secure that football!

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano rubbed some players the wrong way earlier in the year when he tried to force a fumble by rushing Eli Manning and the New York Giants as they were trying to kneel the ball. Schiano is getting a reputation of playing dirty and doing whatever it takes to win football games. His teams will play all the way to the final second. We must do the same.

“We line up. We’re not diving at knees. We’re not doing any of that stuff. There’s techniques that are used to try to jar the ball loose and to have guys in position to recover it. As I’ve talked about before, we’ve done that in the past and actually created a fumble C-Q exchange four times in the past four or five years. It does work, if executed properly, and there’s some tricks to it that you’ve got to do.

“But certainly it’s about clean, hard football and trying to win a game. If the game was out of reach, we wouldn’t use it. It’s strictly about winning games. I want to make that clear. This game’s been too good to me and too important, and I don’t ever want anyone to perceive it as a lack of respect of anyone or anything.” Schiano via Pro Football Talk

So, at the end of the game against the Bucs, let’s make sure we don’t have an issue with the exchange from center to quarterback. We don’t want to be known as THAT team. We don’t want that WORST DAY EVER moment happening all over again.

Fight all the way to the end of the game, because the Bucs will. Take the snap, take a knee, don’t get injured.
